Today, my wife and I celebrated 50 years of marriage. It has been everything from a FI race to the Dakar Rally. Lots of bumps and spills. And joy spots mixed with sadness and doubt-- about everything and anything. It saw my still under way trip down the rabbit hole. My red pill is still working. My wife still takes the blue pill. Something like having a Republican and Democrat at the same table, all the time. But we cope, and try to understand. And that's all any of us can hope for in these times of engineered chaos and confusion.
Congrats to you and your wife, Brian. We only made it to 37 years before I lost him. He's been gone for almost 16 years now and I sometimes wonder what life would have been like, retired together.
All of us who have made it over the 20 year mark and still going strong have a right to toot our own horn on anniversaries. Especially when we live in world that no longer holds marriage scared .
