I think that with more and more movies being available online that movie theaters must be having a hard time keeping customers.
I remember it used to be that when a new and popular movie came out; you would see pictures of people lined up around the block, waiting to buy tickets and watch the movie.
The last few times I went to see a movie, there were only a very few people at the theater.
Maybe the trend of having the large multi-show theaters helps; since they only need one facility for it and one snack bar.
So many people would just rather watch the show from the comfort of their home, and not have to pay such exorbitant prices to see it right away, and I think that will be the trend of the future.

I like going to the theater. I enjoy that much more than watching it online or on television, but we only go a couple of times a month and that's hardly enough to support an industry, it seems.

There is a new sequel to Avatar coming out, and this one should have even more of the special effects, since the first one was over 10 years ago, and technology for CGI has developed a whole lot during that time period.
The trailer for the new movie is out already, but when I listened to one of the “teasers” for the movie, it said it is supposed to come out around Christmas of 2021, so not for another (almost) two years.
Also, they are deciding what to call this movie, and it is going to feature a lot of underwater scenes, so the guess is that the title will have something to do with water.
Here is the trailer for the new movie.

I can never pick just one "favorite" of just about anything. Among my favorite movies are The Godfather, Terms of Endearment, Fatal Attraction, Steel Magnolias, The Shining, The Hunt for Red October, To Kill a Mockingbird. I don't care for animated movies or a lot of special effects.

The first Alien. We went thinking it had something to do with immigration and didn't expect science fiction. Got blown away.

I like most all of Humphrey Bogarts efforts. Treasure of the Sierra Madres probably the foremost.

I've never seen the first one.

As for my favorite movie, I'd probably name a different one every month because there isn't any one movie that stands that far out ahead of the others, and I am often reminded of movies that I loved but hadn't thought of in years. Then there are movies that I really enjoyed but don't necessarily want to watch a second time, and those (like Meatballs) that aren't particularly impressive, but I enjoy watching over and over, although the "sequels" aren't worth watching even once.

I tried waching Schindler's List but always fell asleep on it. I enjoy all of the Mummy movies too. @Al Amoling, have you ever watched Journey to the Center of the Earth with Brenden Fraser? Good family entertainment.

The movie I've watched more times than any other in my collection of 328 films is "The Grapes of Wrath".(1940)

Henry Fonda's portrayal of displaced Okie Tom Joad is priceless. The film shows the gritty hardships encountered by displaced Dust Bowl migrants crawling to California, and becoming disillusioned when they find its not a land of "milk and honey', but a place where starvation is a reality.

The story takes place in the late 1930's, when I was a young boy.
