Hi, sorry if this is not the right forum; I kept trying to post it in the Sci. & Nature Forum but all would come up is Weather & Natural Disasters. Anyway, found this moth (I guess it's a moth?) in our driveway today. Neither Hubby or I have ever seen one like it before; anybody know what kind it is?

I'll try to find out. What part of the country do you live in?

That is an unusual looking moth. I've never seen one with stripes. How big is it?

This one? ( Hyles lineata ) Best I can tell it comes from a worm that looks like the common tomato worm.

We live in No. Calif.; the moth was about an inch and a half long and same width.
    Yep, that's it.
