Usually I get out of bed at no particular time, have breakfast and then go back and lay down for a while. When I finally do get up for good it has been about 9 AM, and the morning is half shot. This morning I am waiting for the plumber to show up and got up and going at 5 AM. I got two loads on laundry done and gave myself a haircut and it's only 9 AM. I have to start setting the alarm.
Depends on when I go to bed. I've been known to stay up all night if I get really interested in something. I've always been a night person, even as a kid. So I never jump out of bed and hit the ground running. Usually get going by mid afternoon. For several years I woke up most days about 8 am. That has gone kaput this year.
During my high school farming years, I was up at 5:30AM to do livestock chores. In the Navy, reveille woke us up at 6AM, unless standing a watch early in the morning did that. Most jobs I've had, I had to be at work at 7AM, so, depend on the distance to work, I'd be up at 5:30AM. Now that I've been retired, since 2007, most of the time, I'm up by 6:30 to 7AM. Sometimes I will take an hour nap, or at least rest, around 3PM. I've never/ever been a "night-owl" and neither has been my wife.
I generally get up somewhere between 0230 and 0530. I wake up after some serious consumption of coffee. Getting going is directly proportionate to the amount of coffee consumed and how interested I am about getting going.
I'm a night owl so I sleep late; like Nancy I can stay up all night if I'm reading or something. I usually get up around 10 or so and don't care if the "morning is half wasted." It's not like I'm going anywhere anyhow. As long as I get sleep I don't see what difference it makes.
I was just telling my husband that I think there is a correlation between how late I stay up and the number of snacks I require. I need to do a scientific study on this phenomenon.
I used to get up between 4AM and 5AM. I know what it feels like to get a ton of stuff done by 9AM, although it's been a while. It's nearly 1AM as I type this, so obviously that legacy schedule is gone. These days I get up around 8AM-9AM. Rare days (every couple of weeks) I may be in as late as 10AM. But when you get to sleep at 3AM... Thanks for not asking about naps
Biometric munchies index. Also referred to as the Bedroom Munchies Index during the Johnny Carson years of watching whilst in bed and munching on peanut butter and crackers. *Recommended by doctors everywhere as a practical method of birth control*
Unless my wife has something in particular she needs me to do, I get up whenever I'm not tired anymore, usually around 10:00 or so. But then, this depends on when I go to bed, usually.
