How interesting! The hatch looked different and smaller than I thought it would. Maybe the size is off on the video, because that one looks like it would be complicated to get in and out of with a spacesuit and helmet, I also liked the round gas tanks. Very cool. They should design a car like that so if you got in a wreck, it could roll off and not blow up the car and people.
Hard to believe that this would make it to the moon. It looks like paper, gold-colored aluminum foil taped together, and shower curtain rods.
The moon landings much seem like ancient history to young people. I read somewhere that they could not build another Saturn 5 today because all the plans were thrown away.
When you consider that the Moon's gravity is only 1/6 of the Earth's, then even a Balsa and Paper Mache lander would handle the job.The touchdown velocity is so low that there is virtually no landing shock. Hal
While visiting Cape Canaveral a few years back, my son and I both explored the lunar module. It was a bit more scientific looking than this picture show. Yes there was a bunch of stuff that looked like it would have melted at 80 degrees F, it really was all very tough stuff.
