Any other whiskey lovers out there? My brand is Bowmore 12. Really smoky and bold, flavour. Can't think of anything better to sit down with on a cold evening than a glass of this and a couple pages of my book. Notable mention for Glenlivet 15, not as powerful taste, with a nutty finish.
I used to be a whiskey drinker but you know the expression "Its brings out the Indian in you" Well, that was true to some extent. My favorite was Gibson's Finest which really ticked my mother off years ago because she worked at Hiram Walkers. To me, their whiskey was horrid but since she didn't touch the stuff, she had no idea. The odd time I still have a wee shot but not very often.
When I was living in the States my whiskey of choice was Johnny Walker Black on the rocks. Here in Thailand I only drink Samsong which is rum. The more popular whiskeys are available but since they are imported, the prices are sky high. A Samsong and soda will cost me about US$2 whereas Barcardi may cost up to US$8!
Quite a difference in price for sure Richard! I'll only indulge once in a while as well Betty, but I always make sure to have a bottle around for and after dinner nightcap. Also it's nice to offer guests, some who you would think never touch the stuff will enjoy a whiskey with you when offered.
Hi Rufus, While I do admit to having my share when I am at a party or relaxing with friends at a club. I never have a bottle at home. When I was a lot younger I did, but it seemed as if I was not saving enough to serve to my visitors so I stopped.
