Nice tree, Gary. We finally got our 7', 3 sections tree up and lite last night. I'm still wearing the Post-Op Shoe on my foot, from the fall I took on Oct 22nd, but I was able to help my wife put the tree up. Problem was, getting the lights to work. There are a number of plugs into receptacles that have to go together for the entire tree to light up. The tree is the pre-lite type. My wife finally connected the right plugs into receptacles, plugged it in and all lights came on. We will decorate it some, but not fully, because of my foot. When we get it decorated, to how we like it, I will put a photo of it on this Thread. We love Christmas and love to decorate, but due to my foot injury, won't be able to completely decorate like we have before.
Very pretty, @Gary McNeill. I just pulled some decorations out of the Christmas closet yesterday. I need to clean and move things around before I can set mine up, but I'm considering putting up a few little ones also, one on the landing up here, and possibly my fiber optic tree here in the office, since I have been spending so much time up here.
Not Gary but unless you tag him he won't see your post since he's not on everyday. Knowing him pretty well though I would say it's because he hates typing. Nice tree @Gary McNeill!
I don't use the abbreviation because I know that some people use it as a way of expressing political correctness but it's actually not a bad abbreviation. The "X" comes from the Greek letter Chi, which is the first letter of the Greek word Χριστός, which in English is "Christ".
I never used to use xmas but now I sometimes find myself doing it in an email because I'm tired of writing... So, I can write my name as Xine?
My 7 yr old grandson writes out Merry Christmas. . My son texted me this letter he wrote a few days ago...he's such a sweetie. Well, he spelled it Chrismas but his heart is in the right place.
