This is my little Kelly. She's the youngest, and is the one who found me in church. She was apparently living on the streets when she found me, and was desperate for someone to take her in and take care of and love her. Out of everyone in the church that day, I was the only one who would even give her the time of day. That really disgusted me. I think of animals as God's creatures, and believe they were sent to be our companions, and for us to take care of them and that we can teach one another things such as love and compassion. She no doubt had to eat out of dumpsters/trash cans while living on the street, and prefers people food over cat food, although I've got her to the point where she'll eat both. She still seems to think of cat food as an appetizer, and my dinner as her entree, though. I was drinking my tea the other day and she wanted some, so I got her a tiny tea cup from a set I have, and she proceeded to slurp up a proper cup of tea.

Awww, she's a cutie! Reminds me of my first cat, Muffin. Except he was a male and he was the one that disappeared one night. I told that story on here somewhere.

Sadly, while I have Pickles I can't get a kitty. Although most of the cats that come in my yard are bigger then he is, I make sure there gone before I let him out.

He takes off like a bullet after them. He's fast with his little Doxie legs.

That's a touching line - Kelly found you. It's nice to think that animals would be choosing us for their companion. I always try not to use the word master, companion is more like it for me but more often I use the term family for our pets. And that gesture that you gave Kelly some tea, it looks like Kelly will be a spoiled kitty in your home. Don't tell me but surely Kitty would be sleeping in your bedroom, right? And I didn't say on your bed, I just said bedroom.

@Corie Henson She has issues, and tends to hide a lot. On her good days, she comes out and rests on my lap/chest or sleeps in my bed :). I have no problem with the cats in/on the bed, they're welcome. The others tend to lie about on the bed during the day, and most nights Kelly spends some time with me there.

She was starving when she found me...the parishioners kept putting her out of church during the service, but she came up to me and jumped in the car and on my lap, so that was that. She was also covered with fleas, so I knew she'd been out living on the streets for a bit. She eats the weirdest things that I've never seen a cat eat, but after several years of being here, she has gotten accustomed to at least a partial diet of cat food. She is a cutie, and can be very sweet when she wants to be.

OHhhh @Diana Lane, people can be so unthinking. I think some of the problem is that this area is so over populated with kitties and puppies, that people have become oblivious to the abandoned furbabies. When I get moved to Dayton, I hope to get another kitty.

I'm really more of a cat person than a dog person. Except for Dachshunds....I could have a whole bunch of them
but if they were all like Pickles, I'd go crazy.

Everything has to be his way, lol. I tell him every day that he's driving me crazy but I still love him. Can't imagine my life without him at this point and he's 8 now, so maybe another 8 years. :(

He's been very healthy so far...and dachshunds can have all sorts of problems, especially back.

Hopefully he'll be happy and healthy for many years to come @Chrissy Page.

When is your move going to take place @Ina I. Wonder? Have you settled on a place there yet? I know it takes me forever to go through things and get ready for a move, to say nothing of finding a place and actually arranging for my belongings to make the journey.

Ryan's been particularly snuggly lately, and also more photogenic than normal.

Thanks, he's my big boy, is much bigger than the girls, and is very athletic, which probably gives him a sense of self assurance. He leaps up onto the tops of the furniture up by the ceiling, then around from piece to piece, onto the bed, down to the floor, etc. The first time I heard it after moving in here (prior to this, since I had him, I lived in single level places), I thought something had crashed down onto the roof. He's definitely a big heavy muscular kitty.

Kelly is a bit of a free thinker. At times she acts like a cat, at others, like a dog, and at others, like something from outer space. She loves having her legs in the air. 20161104_215657_resized.jpg

Too cute! Pickles is sometimes like a cat. I have the best of both worlds. It's hard to tell heads from tails in your photo...is Kelly white with some being?

My first cat Muffin was that color. He's the one that disappeared and I still have the ad I placed in the lost pet section of the newspaper about 35 years ago.

She's a flame point Siamese. her body is white, but she has orange stripes on her tail, and her ears are orange. I call her my toasted marshmallow kitty. Her head is up against me, and I'm looking down at her, taking the pic. Her feet are the farthest away. When she's not behind the couch, she's in my lap or on my chest, so I have a hard time getting normal pictures of her. I'm like that with pictures/ads, too. I have a bunch of less than perfect cat pictures from when I used to get them developed from film cameras, and I refuse to throw them out.
