Complaining about what? Being envious of those that have a nice boat, motorhome, two homes and can do many more things than most of us wish we could? Still say it's all about money. For most of us Seniors, it was about how smart we were when we were younger. Being able to go to college/get a nice Degree, get a job with a nice salary, have the salary to buy/maintain a nice house, take the family on nice vacations and still be able to save for retirement. Unfortunately, I didn't do most of those things, but my wife did. Yes, she was the smart one there! BTW, there are those that have the money for a decent boat, or other nice things, but plainly don't want them. That wasn't me and it sure wasn't my wife. But, more money is generally wanted by all.......young and old. We knew a single/divorced lady who was a College Dean. Her salary was $100k per year and she told us, "for some of the crap I have to go thru with some students, that's not enough!" After she told us about some of the "crap" she goes thru, wife and I said "Yep, you deserve more!" And, this lady has two Ph.D.'s!
I was kidding, Cody. But I'm done with this thread. I don't like to hear that others think my life is comfortable and it is....it only takes one misstep for any of us to lose it all anyway. Be happy you found someone who likes to do the same things you do....
chrissy I was in no way trying to make you uncomfortable. I'm happy for you and I had no right to complain. My life is what it is and there are people out there with far less than I have.
Some Senior's have to take medicine that costs a bundle. One thing for sure, Healthcare isn't cheap, and with the serious health problems some Seniors have, a lot of "would be/could be" fun money isn't there. There AGAIN, the need/want for more money!!
No problem @Chris Ladewig, there isn't much else I can say in this post anyway. My life is what it is also...all of ours are. At this age we can only make the best of it. People have different priorities. I would be the happiest if my husband was still alive even if I had no money. I get nice widows benefits because of him. And it's because of him I had 2 wonderful children who take good care of me. This was the way it turned out.
Don't kid about someone having a boat.......only kidding You have a descent life. There would be those that would envy you. Yes, if you had someone to share that with, it would be nice for you. SO, what are you waiting for, go and find that "someone"!
Lol, not so easy. Also true about what you said about the meds, @Cody Fousnaugh ....some are a fortune!! @Holly Saunders , I see you're going to Spain again....NICE! How long this time?
Yes I'm looking forward to it as usual Chrissy..going for a couple of weeks, I'm using up the last of my holiday entitlement for this year ...I may be retiring before the end of the year, I've almost (90% ) made my mind up to take early retirement..
I'm glad to hear that, Holly....you work too hard and long. Couple of weeks will be nice! Have fun, relax, enjoy!
Thanks Chrissy, I'll try and have the best time I can, it'll have to last me a while .. you;'re right I do work too hard and too long hours, so it's really time to think seriously about retiring. In the meantime.I'll say goodnight..because I'm still employed so I must get to bed to be up again at 5.30am...have a good day..
