I know the term "Man Cave" is quite popular among the men. I am in the process of starting my own "She Shed"! I have a 10x15 insulated shed with a electric run to it and a window air unit. I thought this would be a GREAT place to do some crafting, woodworking, scrap-booking, etc. I have already set up my table with lights above it, a few shelves to hold my crafting supplies and an area for cutting, sanding and painting wood. I would like to start out with a few easy projects to sell at our annual "town wide yard sale" at the end of August. Any suggestions?
What a great idea Lilly. I just got a little gift from my brother's friend the other day. It is so cute. It is a square carved wooden candle holder and can be used with a tea light or larger candle. It has bears carved in the wood. He brought it from his mothers cottage. There is openings around the bears so you can see the flame. If you don't think a tea light is safe (like I feel), I am going to look for a candle in a "canadian gift shop" with souvenirs and see if I can find a candle shaped like a bear. I googled and I found this. Mine is similar but square. Hey this looks like it is made from bark, that is a great idea too. Just circle it around and carve your design.

Lilly...I love the whole idea of having a "She Shed" in your home. Wish I had thought of it while I still owned a home...but I only have an apartment/suite in a house now...and it is very small. Allison...I have a couple of tea light holders and have never had a problem using the tea lights in them. Maybe you could use a small dish or tinfoil under the tea light...
I have been having a ball looking on line for craft ideas! Some of the cutest things are there! I really like the projects with the old pallets! So many neat things you can do with them! I am really into the primitive or country rustic look for sure! Hopefully I'll get started on something in the near future. Any other ideas will be GREATLY appreciated!!

Well, I am back to this thread! Now, I really am thinking of setting up a "she shed" of my own. I found so many ideas for shelving. Maybe you could set something like this up in your apartment, Lucy with just a few shelves.
I'm not sure exactly what type of crafts you'll be doing, but the shed in my backyard has a part that was designed to be a fish cleaning station, and it has a nice large sink. The pipes going to the shed have broken over the years, but if I were to make a she shed, it would definitely have at least a small sink and electric kettle. I tend to immerse myself in my crafts for hours, so snacks and a kettle would be mandatory. I'm just now seeing this thread, but I'll be back, since I love the idea of a she shed, and am looking forward to seeing your pics and hearing about the progress you're making.
Diane, I am with you on the convenience of having a sink available. I am quite the messy crafter. I am not much of a tea drinker, but having beverages and snacks readily available is always a plus.
