I finally watched the movie. I don't care about football, nor do I know anything about it really, but I learned a little from watching it. I primarily wanted to see it because of the actors, but also so I could decide whether or not I wanted to watch the TV series. I'm looking for another good series to watch, and a lot of the ones I've found seem very superficial and don't hold my interest. I streamed the movie via Amazon. I really liked the movie, so now I'm also watching the series on Netflix, and am learning a little more about football. I enjoy the Texas references, and am a fan of Connie Britton, so it's nice to see her in a different role. I like her in Nashville (it will be switching networks to CMT, i believe, in January, and she'll be in about 1/3 of the episodes), so wanted to see her in a different role. I like that it's a meaty show, with a lot of character development and substantial story lines.
LOVED the series on Netflix. Don't know where I was while it was on tv.......think I was busy raising our girls.
I think I dismissed it because it was about Football and I'm not into sports. I am actually really enjoying it, though. I'm on about episode 5 or 6, so I have a long way to go, but I stopped in the middle to watch the movie. I might start watching Heartland again after I'm finished with this, unless Smallville becomes available at my library. I'd love to have Smallville on Netflix.
I have not seen this one yet but, although I don't like sports much, I have seen a lot of sports movies that I have liked a lot; particularly baseball but also some football movies.
You might like it @Ken Anderson. I'm really enjoying it. I am on about episode 12 now. I like how it covers different characters, but there aren't too many, so it's not overwhelming. They get you acquainted with some before they introduce others in depth. It's actually a pretty good introduction to football, as well. I was afraid it would totally revolve around the sport and the team, but it has a good balance of other things, as well.
I think I saw the movie way back when I am not sure, but maybe I didn't because I don't remember it all. I never saw the TV series. I do like football movies generally. One of my fave movies Rudy is a football movie, Remember the Titans, and We Are Marshall also great football movies. Brian's Song,,about the friendship between Gale Sayers and Brian Piccolo of the Chicago Bears one of the weepiest made for TV movies of all times, t was very good.
