Although I have a oven I haven't used it in several years and prefer to do all my cooking with a Halogen Counter Top cooker. It's more energy efficient, faster with easy clean up. Broiling is a snap and because of circulating heat, meats do not have to be turned. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1...rd_wg=Cggas&psc=1&refRID=RFJK6QHHA1C4CKSG1BD0
@Ren Tanner Appears to have Halogen-type lamps, maybe quite a few? Is yours just like the pic in the link, or similar? New product, for me, I'm interested, since microwave energy is thought to destroy phytochemicals in veggies. Frank
This is the first time I've heard of that halogen oven. And it looks convenient to use. When I got a job, my first investment was the turbo broiler. It is similar but just a bit bigger than that halogen oven. The top cover has the coils that gives the heat when turned on. It is also easy to use like a portable oven although the space for cooking is limited. But for us, we don't buy appliances that just came out in the market, we wait for some feedback from our circle. Like the conduction stove, we had almost bought one and it's a good thing that my husband carefully read the literature and he found out that such stoves can only function with pans and pots that are designed for conduction cooking. In other words, our existing pots and pans cannot be used in that stove.
That's interesting Ren. I doubt we'll ever get one though, we have so many things taking up counter space.
It cooks a mean roast chicken and roast potatoes. I haven't got one now but did have plus it has a wash cycle on. All done and dusted in one go.
I remember you mentioning this a while back on another forum Ren... I'd love to try one but like Sheldon I just don't have enough counter space..
Hi Holly you can put them away in a cupboard. I had a weeny kitchen a few years back when I lived on my own and it was ideal. Just brought it out when I needed it. I did have a conventional oven as well but hardly used it.
I just can't stand to have too many things on my counter, especially ugly looking things. I even put my toaster away a few years ago. I'm weird, I know.
Ha ha Chrissy you made me laugh ;-) I don't like a lot of clutter either. I go to a friend's for coffee and she has masses of stuff. She always says to me "what are you mentally de cluttering" Each to their own.
Gracias Mi amiga....I wish I was still in Spain..it's 20 degrees colder here than there.... although I know you would love that..lol
I hate clutter as well ,a friend has one of those turbo cookers but they are soooo bulky ..her cupboard tops are like a jumble sale that would really irritate me ....I use the toaster most days but it go's back in the cupboard after a it's cooled down ..any mixers or other electrical appliances are stored in the pantry or a deep drawer Only "clutter"that's on my bench tops is a coffee machine ( his) the kettle ,coffee /tea / sugar ( for visitors ) and a fruit bowl
