It might help with her legs as twirling a baton does with my fingers, but I think she's always traveled a lot at night.
I've been lucky with my kitties letting me sleep. Sometimes cats will go through phases where they may be up during the night for a week or so and then they get over it. I get home about midnight from work. Give or take. They get their can treat then. (I used to give it to them in the morning but they started meowing around for it at 8am when I sleep until 11 so that had to be changed) On my days off they get the can treat at 8pm. I can tell they have been asleep since they stretch and may use the litter box when I get home. They are then awake for about 3 hours until I go to bed at 3 and for the most part will be quiet once I go to bed. A few incidents of running around after I went to bed but at 5 1/2 it's now a rarity. They sleep on the bed with me.
The only time Milo really gets up, is if I am bothering him moving around too much, or once in awhile if he hears roomie early in the AM he will investigate to see what he is doing. He is so cute though, he loves the dark of the bedroom and is all purry at bedtime, and then in the morning when I say hello to him and pet him, he is happy again. He thinks finally, she will get out of her stupor and pay some attention to me! Cats really are funny!
Whenever Cutie returns to the bedroom, she will poke me until I wake up so that I can pet her. It's sometimes a little annoying but, at 26 years old, I'm sure there will come a time when I will miss her waking me up a dozen times each night.
Yep, I even think like that when 8 yr old Pickles is driving me nuts....one day I'll miss it. Of course being 65 myself who knows who will go first.
Our dogs have the sense of time as maybe dictated by habit. When we oversleep on weekends they wake us up by 6am. At night they abide when we stay late in the living room but when we go up to the bedroom, they fall flat and asleep within 5 minutes. However when we forget to turn on the air conditioner, expect our smallest dog Barbie to emit short barks while looking at the air vent.
Ella seems willing to stay in bed with me as long as I want to stay there. When I sleep in, she's always there with me,
Well this was the second night that Pickles was whining starting around 2 a.m. but I ignored it and managed to stay in bed until 4:30 today. I was hoping he didn't have to pee really bad because an accident in my bed would really upset me since I don't have anything protecting my mattress and he's never peed on my bed, nor really anywhere in the house. Maybe I should look into one of those mattress protectors they sell for kids.
