Something happened in my neighborhood last evening. I don't have details, but it seems there was some sort of incident about 5 streets over, and possibly a woman was hurt and taken to the hospital, and then the man attempted suicide. That's just from neighbor reports, they were assumptions, so who knows how accurate, and I probably won't hear any more about it. Since there was mention of an attempted suicide, the poster decided to remove the post, and I haven't seen anything in the news. But, regardless, if anyone feels like praying, please say a prayer for this family, because it sounds as if they need it.

That is a starting thing to happen in your own backyard. About six months ago, I heard of someone from this development dying. I knew him slightly as he was on the board the same time I was. I was surprised to find out he had passed away. He always seemed pretty healthy, and in fact the last time I saw him he had been moving rock and sand with his grandson. I think he had some kind of pneumonia or something, and he was only in his early 60's. You just never know.

Since I've lived here, two across the street (elderly) and 1 next door (same age as me, in mid 50s, but used pain meds plus drugs and drank) have passed away, and there was the one on the next street over who was shot by her neighbor and died, plus some other elderly and/or infirm residents. This happened in the section down towards the front of the neighborhood that tends to be rent houses, and there's some turnover when leases run out, so I don't know if anyone knows them or their situation. The people posting lived on the same street, and i think one lived just behind them, but no one seemed to know much. There were a lot of emergency vehicles, yet somehow, nothing hit the news. We're a forgotten area down here, Houston pretty much ignores us until something 'sexy' happens and they know it will be a fairly big story.

Pardon me but that is one problem with social media. I understand that the case happened in your neighborhood, @Diane Lane but you don't have the details. And for all you know, it may be a hoax and people will be praying for a hoax? Oh, oh. In another thread, I have posted how a rumor spreads in social media simply because people just share the post without verifying it the post is true or not.

@Corie Henson No, it's not a hoax. This isn't something I just happened to see randomly on social media. This occurred several streets over, and we all heard the sirens and saw pics posted by neighbors. What we don't have is details about what happened, mainly because the people were apparently new to the neighborhood, and since it's a sensitive subject with someone potentially attempting to commit suicide, they deleted the post, but obviously the people could use some prayers.
