I have chronic allergies and sinusitis, but at the changing of the seasons, I also get seasonal allergies. They've been really bad lately,and I just needed to rant about it. My whole body's inflamed, and my head and chest are hurting and stuffed up. I'm also still having issues from the fire ant stings and possible spider bite, so that doesn't help. Does anyone else here have allergies? If so, are you allergic to something in particular, or just have the chronic type of issues? I was tested years ago and nothing in particular popped up, but that doesn't mean it hasn't changed.
Allergies are awful. I had an allergy attack some years back. It happened twice but the cause wasn't clearly determined. The suspect was tuna because I had tuna sandwich a few hours before the attack. But on the second occasion, tuna was not present. The effect of allergy to me is the swelling of my lips. With that symptom the allergy can't be denied.
Yes, and if your lips are swelling, that could be dangerous. I have a friend who is allergic to shrimp, but she loves shrimp, so she takes a chance and eats it anyway. Her main symptom is that her lips swell. I really wish she'd at least carry an Epi-pen (or preferably, the cheaper alternative, since she's on a budget), but she doesn't seem to take it very seriously. I haven't had that type of symptom from seasonal allergies or any other type of trigger, other than antibiotics and sulfa drugs, so I stay away from those known triggers.
No allergies for me at all, I don't even know what hurting sinuses feel like. My oldest grandson does have some minor allergies to something like pollen, the same with my 7 yr old grandson in Illinois. Both take something...don't know if it's prescription or over the counter.
I take daily meds, and during this type of situation, I double them, taking one at night and one during the day. I also use nasal spray (just saline usually) quite a bit, as well as allergy eye drops. Oh, and anti-inflammatories, as well. I was fighting a migraine yesterday, and the anti-inflammatory definitely helped with that, along with extra strength generic tylenol. When I win the lottery, I'm moving somewhere with less allergens and cleaner air.
