My hubby wore suspenders too and for a sad reason. He had to get a larger size in pants because of his colostomy.
Yes, I always associated suspenders with age too. 9 times out of 10 when you see someone wearing suspenders it is a farmer, or an old geezer. I don't think somebody like my dad would wear suspenders though. A he doesn't do a whole lot where he would need them, and B he just isn't the type. Somebody who should wear them though..is my ex husband..who can never seem to keep his pants up. He insists on wearing dress shirts like everyday...and they are always coming out of his pants...charming...So instead of doing the sensible thing like pulling the shirt out he is half tucked in and half out..
I remember my mother wearing a "garter belt". It always looked uncomfortable. I lucked out, panty hose came out when I was in my early teens. @Honey Gee , what does sussed or sussing mean? Understanding, or figured out is the closes I get.
The American ladies call them garters/garter belts and the men don't call them anything but "woo hoo"!
