I haven't been in a Chick-fil-A since I left North Carolina in 2008 but, as fast food places went, I always thought Chick-fil-A was one of the best. Actually, I'm not sure about their lunches because I have only been to Chick-fil-A for breakfast, and I loved their breakfast burritos. The bacon, egg & cheese biscuit and the sausage, egg & cheese biscuit were good too, but those are even good at McDonalds.

Although I doubt that it's a hiring requirement, Chick-fil-A employees were usually Christian and always polite. Christian music would be playing in the background and, since I would usually stop there an hour or so before starting work, I would take that time to read over breakfast and coffee, and if I was reading a Christian book, one of the employees would often have read it. That was a plus for me, although I understand that it might be a minus for others.

Chick-fil-A has been denied a place in several malls because of its refusal to open on Sunday, since mall management wants to have a full food court on Sunday. Often, you'll find a stand-alone Chick-fil-A near a mall rather than in one.

The first Chick-fil-A in Maine just opened in Bangor, and a second one is supposed to be opening somewhere further south before long.

When we had the bad snowstorm here a couple of years ago, Chick-fil-A was handing out free meals to stranded motorists, and even letting them sleep in the warm restaurant until someone could come and pick them up.
You have to understand that a bad snowstorm here in Alabama means we got 1-2 inches of snow; but even so, it devastates everyone and stops all traffic for hours and hours, even emergency vehicles.
I think that this one started around mid-day, before people had left work early to get home before the storm started. But then, the snow came down sooner than expected, and all of those motorists were trapped on the slick freeways.
We have a friend who lives near Birmingham, and she had her granddaughter with her (who spent the day in daycare usually), and they left to go home in the early afternoon. They were still stranded on the freeway until well after midnight, and finally one of the rescue trucks picked them up and got them off of the freeway and to a spot where her husband could drive to and pick Sharil and Abby up.
Many others walked until they got off of the freeways, and since the Chick-fil-A was near an exit area, that is where a lot of the stranded people ended up.
Instead of closing, Chick-fil-A stayed open all night, and served frozen travelers hot coffee and chicken sandwiches, until they ran completely out of food themselves, and didn't charge anyone for it. People slept in the little booths until they could get a way back home again.
It was a wonderful example of a company helping out the community.

I've never been in a one. I looked at the menu once online and decided it was on the high side in sodium.

There was only one around here and it was near In-n-out burger, so I always went there instead. I think it may be gone now and some other fast food joint is in its place. I don't remember seeing it last time I drove back from my daughter's...it's right where I get off my last Hwy.

I just don't eat at fast food places, once in a blue moon I'll go for an in-n-out.

I just looked and did see there is still one about 4 miles from me. Not too many here though.

Chick-fil-A, is simply a great restaurant, serving great chicken and other meals. The service is fast and friendly, and they treat their employees extremely well. My granddaughter works there. The girls work the counter and the boys work the kitchen, as a rule, and they answer every customer with "It's my pleasure".

When her Dad (my sil), died, she had huge problems with depression and walked off the job,in tears. The Manager kept in touch, and later, after counseling, she stopped by to eat, the Manager came out to talk with them and invited her to come back. She did and is happy working there. She thinks it is Super to have Sundays off!

Yes, I know Brits are more liberal in a way. I have no problem with gay marriage or gay people but I'm a moderate.

In-n-out Burger is also a very good company. They pay their employees very well compared to other fast food places. A couple years ago a worker there was getting $10 an hour which is well above what the other places paid.

Also a manager could earn $100,000 a year.

They also opened on a Sunday to offer free food to those who were lining up to give blood for victims of the LGBT club shooting in Orlando, Florida, as well as to law enforcement people who were on the scene, which was also reported on Vibe. One of their stores was near the LGBT club that was the site of the shooting.
