Certainly is bright, which I had heard it would be
Didn't get to see it - too cloudy :(

I know I went out twice before I got the picture (cloudy) to take and in my pyjamas yet so it wasn't too warm out there for one minute. LOL

Ummm, Flash? Not really usable photographing an object 221,000 miles distant. But I'm being "picky", as I thought I would mention those scenes from the Olympics and sports games, where spectators by the hundreds in the background "flash" pictures all at once of their take-home memories. Futile attempts, but no one knows, so "who am I to disagree"? (Annie Lennox, The Eurhythmics).

So @Gary McNeill, what kind of camera did you use? Did you edit the photo in any way before posting? Are you going to do an oil painting of it?

Used a Canon camera. I added the photo in a program on my iMac. No I'm not going to do an oil painting of it there's not enough that interesting.

When I finally move to my daughter's house I'm going to start going with her to the wine and paint classes she goes to...I know I have some artistic talent drawing but I've never tried oil painting, this way I can see if I would like it before I buy a bunch of stuff and then don't do anything with it. :)

Does that sound like a good plan @Gary McNeill? :)

I can't get very good moon pictures with my camera, but I still try sometimes. I didn't take any this time, but did spend some time gazing at it through my windows and also from the balcony.

It only cost you a bit initially for the oil paint tubes the canvases R cheap.
The initial half a dozen brushes are a little pricey but they can last for a long time if you clean them and look after them.

i will be very proud of my first painting that's for sure. I'll paint one for each child and write on the back that if they throw it out I'll haunt them. :)

I'm actually getting excited about this.
