My boy swore we had a ghosts he bought a radio controlled car and at different times it would start up and run around the floor all on its own sometime in the middle of the night scaring him. He took the batteries out of the controller so the ghost could not use it nothing changed. I told him to make sure that the switch on the bottom of the car was turned off after that no problem. I told him that it was probably some radio that was going by on the road that was on the same frequency like police, electric company, Water Company or a personal walkie talkie. Now he has become a Sherlock Holmes trying to catch the person.
We were working overtime one night, and when we keyed the mike in the truck, the garage door across the street would go up, or down. "Who you gonna call......"?
I am sure that was shocking to your son, @Martin Alonzo . The radio frequencies can certainly play strange tricks sometimes. Many years ago, we lived close to a neighbor that had an elaborate CB antenna and equipment. One day, I was happily playing songs on my organ when it started speaking to me........... I was totally shocked and had no clue what was happening at first ! After listening to it for a few minutes, I realized that it was his CB radio and it was being picked up on the organ speakers. Another time, years later, we had gone to visit a friend, and as we pulled up to their house, we called on the CB to see if they were home. To our utter amazement, the garage door opened up; but no one was there ! After thinking at first that they were playing a trick on us, we realized that the CB frequency was the right one to open the garage door. Unfortunately, they were not home, and we couldn't get the CB to close the door again, either; so we had to leave it that way, and explain to them later what had happened.
Once I bought a doll for my youngest daughter and this doll would talk and laugh...even when we had turned the switch off and she wasn't supposed to do those things. At first I thought it was a fluke and ignored this, but when it started happening at any time of the day or night I got rid of that doll real fast. I had watched the movie Chucky (the devil doll) and there was no way I was keeping a doll that could evidently turn herself off and on. If she could do that...there was no telling what else she could do and I wasn't taking any chances that Chucky had a sister.
What about a cooling fan that suddenly comes on ............ We bought one in the summer (it has remote control) then suddenly one night, I felt a waft of cold air over me I turned to see the fan was on. We were both sitting on the sofa no where near it It happened again, last week
Well if this doesn't bother you, live with it. If it does bother you and you can find no reasonble explanation that gives you peace...throw it out! Or see if the store you got it from will replace it or reimburse you for it.
