Okay, here's the rules. I'll start out by posting a riddle. The person who is able to solve the riddle may post another, or pass it on to someone else. Whoever solves that riddle may post another, and so on. I'll start. Name a common food in which you throw away the outside and cook the inside, then eat the outside and throw away the inside?
Too many answers, but the riddle is....which is the Right answer? Chicken might be one. Throw away the feathers, cook the chicken. Eat the meat and throw away the bones. But, the same would apply to just about any meat with a covering (including the wrapper) and bones. But, I will stick to chicken for now since I do cook it with the liver, gizzard, and heart when I bake the thing.
Good point. Although it's not the one I had in mind, any answer that answers the question correctly counts. What I had in mind was corn on the cob. You throw away the husk, cook the corn that is inside, eat the corn, then throw away the cob. Your turn, if you have a riddle.
The letter "n." You are a stranger lost in a strange land. You are traveling along a road that ends at an intersection with a road that leads either east or west. You know that one of these directions will lead you to your destination, but that the other will lead to hopeless despair. Standing at this fork in the road are two men, both of whom know the direction you must take in order to reach your destination. You know, also, that one of these men always tells the truth and that the other one always lies. Unfortunately, you cannot remember which is which. With one question directed towards one of these men, how can you be sure to make the right choice and travel down the correct road?
Okay, let's try another one, given that it's been nearly a month. This is not original, and you may have heard it before. As I was going to St. Ives, I met a man with seven wives And every wife had seven sacks And every sack had seven cats Every cat had seven kits Kits, cats, sacks, wives How many were going to St. Ives?
Harry, Mike, and Sally have to cross a river. Neither of them can swim and the boat is unable to carry more than 200 pounds without sinking. Together, the three of them weight 380 pounds. Harry weighs 180 pounds and Mike and Sally weigh 100 pounds each. How can each of them get to the other side?
Mike and Sally cross. Mike leaves Sally and brings the boat back for Harry. Harry crosses and sends Sally back with the boat for Mike. Mike and Sally cross and meet Harry on the other side.
I am banished by the sunshine, but flourish in the night You'll never see me coming though I'll shake you with delight At my best I'll burn your fingers and make your face a fright If you let me get a grip on you, you'll pass without a fight. What am I?
