We use to buy clothes at Walmart, but for the last few years we've been buying at JCP. Sometimes my wife will by some clothes at Kohl's, but very rarely at Walmart. We think the quality is better at JCP and, besides that, we have credit with them (does help). Tennis shoes use to come from Walmart, but now get mine at Sears and wife gets hers at Skechers. The cost is double (or more), but the fit and wearable time is much, much longer. There are other places we use to buy things, but have changed to a different store, or better made/higher cost. We definitely don't take either of our vehicles to the Dealer for repair. We go to Midas or Goodyear. Some things can be bought at a cheaper price, but other things need to be bought at the higher price to get a "better value for the buck". What about you?
I'm a snob. Most of my clothes come from Nordstrom. I'll buy slipper socks at Walmart though. I also found the most comfortable cami with built in bra at Walmart for only $5.97! You can't even buy a plain cami anywhere else for that cheap.
I like me clothes so don't pay high prices, I check the clothes before I buy for quality and I can find that at a good price
I never pay full price. Always on sale and sometimes if you catch a good sale the clothes at Nordstrom can cost about the same as Target.
That's right, me box is full of Emails offering me discount prices, I just don't pay full price, which means more clothes for Patsy
Same with us. That's why we went Christmas shopping on Thanksgivivg evening and Black Friday.......terrific prices!
True...that's when I got my Northface long jacket for about $50 less and also my new iPad Air for a couple hundred dollars less.
I buy the best I can find and that doesn't necessarily mean the most expensive..you'd be surprised to find much better quality goods at lower prices than the perceived higher quality due to well known Brand names. ( although I am a big fan also of big brand names) We have a consumer programme here on TV.. and every week they go out to the high street stores, or online and see which brands and stores may be ripping us off ... For example One test compared Levi Jeans...with a very cheap high street store own brand... Here's the results... The UK jeans market is worth over £2 billion, with varying price points from £10 up to hundreds of pounds for a single pair. But what are we paying for? Is there a difference in the quality, or are we merely forking out for a label? Andi and Anna put this to the test with a £10 pair from Primark and a £90 pair of Levi’s. Were the Levi’s really nine times better and is it therefore worth paying for the big brands? In street tests, most punters struggled to tell the two jeans apart. Next the Supershoppers’ team put both pairs through industry standard lab tests – including durability, shrinking, colour fading and strength. While the Levi’s jeans had slightly higher cotton content, both pairs of jeans fared well in the laundry test, with no significant shrinkage or fading, but both did less well in the rubbing test, which measures how badly the denim stains other surfaces while damp. The Primark pair failed completely and the Levi’s only just passed. Levi’s pride themselves on the durability and strength of their jeans, with their logo even claiming two horses couldn’t pull them apart. But when the lab tested the jeans’ strength, surprisingly it was the Primark pair that came out on top. Plus when we recreated their famous horse test, Levi’s jeans ripped straight away. High end supermarkets are also something that have to be watched carefully too..because many of the food created supposed solely for a Particualr High end store, is actually made in the same factory providing much cheaper supermarkets..only the packaging changes in many, many instances. Ultimately if you're a savvy shopper you can get plenty of bang and quality for your buck!!
When I buy clothes I go online and look under "clothes made in USA". I've bought jeans made by Diamond Gusset and by Pointer. Some are made of denim 14.75OZ weight. They last forever with normal wear. Many foreign made cheap jeans are 10-12 OZ denim. Wig Wam socks are made here too. They outlast thin socks by a long ways. New Balance still makes some shoes here. I hate buying clothes, so I buy the best I can afford. I don't have many, but I probably won't need many more.
True that cheap socks don't last, Ike. Maybe I need to spend more on socks but for some reason I have a hard time doing that...maybe cause they're "just socks".
New Balance tennis shoes are what I went with after wearing ones at Walmart. I was having some arch problems with the ones at Walmart and stopped at a high-end shoe store at a our local mall and talked to a salesman. He told me to never buy tennis shoes at Walmart. He said, "they are cheap for a reason". I wear Wilson premium calf-length sports socks that I only buy from Wilson's online website. Stores don't sell the "premium" type. The "premium" ones do cost more, but the ones I'm wearing right now, we bought me for Christmas last year.
Lol, I guess. I do go without socks for most of the year in Fresno, still wear underwear though but who knows what I'll do in the future? They are starting to bother me. Ive quit wearing rings, watches, necklaces and bracelets because they bug me...earrings are still ok. I'm becoming a minimalist.
