I use apps on my phone a lot. I don't have Facebook on the phone, because it seems to clog up the devices, so I had previously removed it from my tablet, and decided not to put it on the phone when I got it. I do check Facebook a few times a day usually. The apps that I use most often are Twitter, Sell on Etsy, Bonanza Sellers, ebay, Instagram, my local ABC news station app, a word search app, solitaire, and also tumblr. A lot of what I use them for is my online shops or looking around online at products I need, but of course I use the game apps for playing games. I have Bejeweled2 as well, but don't use that quite as much, although I really enjoy it. I used to use the Kindle app quite a bit, but I don't even use it anymore, now that I have a Kindle Touch. What are some of your favorite apps?
Kindle and Overdrive. Can't live without those two. Read the book - listen to the book. It's all good... Maybe ESPN, when its Football season
What a hard thing to decide, @Diane Lane ! ! It seems like I am using apps for almost everything that I do on the iPad. Like you, I used to use the Kindle app a lot; but with the Kindle Fire, I do all of my reading on that for the most part. I have my email app, I guess maybe I use that the most; but my favorite one is probably Youtube. I have photo apps for storing, editing , and sharing photos. Then the sales apps, Amazon and eBay, plus personal finance like the bank and paypal. I have a whole grouping of survey apps. I had accumulated pages and pages of apps, and then I learned how to organize the apps and put them in folders, so now I only have two pages again, and open the folders for whatever kind of app I am looking for. It saves a whole lot of space as well as time and frustration hunting for the app I want.
Hmmm, well I can't say what might be a favorite, 'cause all I know is, folks scan 'em, somehow, and glean some kind of information from that act. I have nothing to scan one with, I don't think. Unless this little camera in my computer can do it, which I seriously doubt! Frank
We have different apps on our iPhone's.........weather, games, news, Facebook, etc. I'm also checking Updates of apps. I take care of our iPhones, like I take care of our computer.........very efficiently!
I used to like PerkPopQuiz alot it was fun. I enjoy PerkTV which is a good app, and Surveystogo is great. My phone is not the greatest, and I kind of have it overloaded with apps at the moment, most of which I don't use. Ohhh I forgot, my favorite app by far is Netflix. I use that every night. I think it is a great one! I have that on the phone and Kindle..but I almost always watch it on Kindle, since it like watching a little portable TV, that doesn't use a lot of power. The only thing though is I wish they had a little stand for the kindle...as sometimes I get tired of holding it..I think they do have one...I am sure..or some people may be able to stand their cases up but I cant.
I have alot of apps on my phone as well. Some are apps that help me to earn a little money. I do have Kindle, but am not sure quite how to use it. I also have Facebook and I use it often to keep in touch with my Oklahoma cousins.
I use Facebook on my computer, It doesn't seem to behave well on my phone so I am not using it on there. It is a good keep in touch tool, and that is something I like, except it seems that the same people are posting all the time. I don't need to see pics of your kids and dog every single day! lol. I had to put one person on unfollow because she kept posting her own pic every day..However, there are a great many useful apps to be sure.
I do think it's a matter of buying the right case. When I was looking, I found various ones that served different purposes, and I'm pretty sure I saw some with stands on them. I hold my kindle, so didn't follow up on that. Occasionally, i'll rest it on me, but since I use it mainly in bed, a kickstand or other type of stand wouldn't work that well. I do have Netflix on my phone, but mainly use the blu-ray or roku for that. I have to say, my apps aren't organized at all @Yvonne Smith. I could stand to organize them, but I've gotten used to paging through them to find what I need. Amazon, PayPal and eBay are also ones that I use frequently, although I feel more secure using PayPal on the desktop. @Frank Sanoica I think you're confusing apps with QR codes, which can be scanned with a camera, to take you to a link, or unlock some sort of offers. I do have a QR scanner on my phone, but I find it difficult to use. I'm not sure if it's the particular scanner I have, the camera, or perhaps they're all like that, sort of quirky. Apps are a different ball of wax, they're computer programs that enable you to do various things such as play games, manage social media sites, etc. Sometimes they are attached to large sites like BestBuy, Walmart, etc., and other times they're stand alones, such as gaming programs.
A while back, I added Google Translate to my phone for work. Because we have guest from many countries, it helps me communicate better to help make their visit easier. I remember being in Norway with a paper dictionary and was completely lost. In Germany on base, the Armed Forces TV station would have 'the phrase of the day'. I would try and learn key phrases to get by traveling around. One time, while waiting for a train in Germany, I asked a gentlemen if I was on the right platform to catch a certain train. He smiled and spoke in English if he could help. Apparently I had said sometime to the affect 'that his dog was on fire...' Said I was sorry, but at least I gave it a try. Sure could have used a smartphone back in the 80's.
Don't know how I missed this post in august. I have all the usual apps that most of you have but for some like Facebook I prefer non app version. I look at most of them every day but I would say I can spend more time on Pinterest pinning things that I never use.
I don't think I've tried Whats app, although I could probably use it. I used to use the Apple messaging app to keep in touch, but now that I don't have an Apple device, I no longer use that. I use Kik Messenger to keep in touch with a few friends. It's easier than email for those I talk to a lot. There are a lot of sex bots/spammers on there, but I just block them. I also use Google Opinion Rewards and On the Go Surveys, as well as Drive Safe and Save from State Farm. It's tracking my trips, in the hope that I can save a few dollars on my insurance, but it doesn't seem to have tracked the last few trips, so I need to look into it. Magic Puzzles is another I've added somewhat recently. I enjoy doing the puzzles when I'm stressed, or have a few minutes to spare.
