I recently splurged and bought a movie I've been wanting for several years. I've watched it yearly when it's on television at Christmas, but I like it so much that I decided to purchase it, since it doesn't seem to be all that well known. This one is called Christmas Angel. There are others with the same name, but this is my favorite. I also enjoy many others, such as Prancer, Elf, Christmas Vacation, Charlie Brown Christmas, Frosty, Santa Claus is Coming To Town. How about you? Do you have any favorites you watch every year?
One of my favorite Christmas story movie is The Bishop's Wife. I try to watch it when TCM has it on. I like White Christmas too. I like to see the story of Jesus being born when it's on at Christmas time as well.
Who wouldn't like Home Alone? That mischievous boy who could do almost anything and who had single-handedly defeated the bad guys. Well, it's a real comedy with Christmas day as the backdrop. I can watch that movie again and again because it seems very natural to me, I mean the character of that mischievous boy. I was a good girl and never had experienced being naughty by I had seen those antics in my brothers when we were young. I can imagine that if one of my brothers were put in that sitation of being left alone in the house, he might have done the same mischief.
Home Alone is a must play for me every Christmas, but basically the first version released. Its sequels are not that bad, but not as funny as the first. Another must watch for me is Bill Murray's Scrooged
I can remember curling up on the sofa with my 3 daughters, a big bowl of buttered popcorn and mugs of hot chocolate with whip cream or marshmallows. Back then you could buy matching Christmas pjs for the whole Family and we were always dressed in ours while we watched our favorite Christmas movies and shared the popcorn, etc. I don't really know what we liked more...the movies or just spending that special time together.
