I don't have any further information. Lab work was drawn at my doctor's office and I have faxed the lab results from the ER to my endocrinologist. I'll probably know more tomorrow, but I feel fine now. I had just gone through my annual physical less than two weeks before my ER visit and the only thing notable on my lab reports then were that my calcium levels were slightly low.

A day late responding to this one, as I thought, and thought, about it, and failed to get the connection. How does my name suit me???

As a follow up, I will be having some more lab work done tomorrow. My doctor consulted with my endocrinologist, and they will be increasing my Levothyroxine to 220 mcg, as well as supplemental calcium and Vitamin D, so my Levothyroxine began at 100 mcg, was increased to 137 mcg, and will now being going up to 220 mcg.

Wow! But if that's what needs done, then that's what you got to do. Although I never went that high in dose there were times I was higher than the 88 mcg I'm on now. Never felt any difference though.

Vitamin D seems to be pretty important, even though my level was normal this last time my dr stressed that I should continue the dose I was taking.

I also asked my dr if I should be taking a calcium supplement and he said "NO". I didn't ask why not, maybe I should have.

Do they have a clue yet as to what happened?

I don't think this really relates to cancer anymore, except that it probably has to do with my lack of a thyroid due to cancer, but I guess I'll continue to update things here since it wouldn't make sense to start a new thread. I started on my higher-dose Levothyroxine today, and had blood drawn for additional lab studies.

Perhaps related to something else entirely, I have a terrible headache today and I think I'm coming down with a cold. I hope it stops with a cold, anyhow. It's the kind of headache that is somewhat relieved when I close my eyes, so I find myself napping a lot.

Sorry to hear that and hope it goes away soon!

I've never gotten that kind of headache, actually I'm not prone to headaches and even with a migraine I just get the aura and never the headache.

That is good that the doctor is monitoring everything so closely, especially until they can get the dosage right. Hopefully the new blood tests will help them out with doing that.
My cardiologist said that they will be sending me to some kind of an amioderone clinic now, too, since it can also affect my thyroid function, and I am taking the Armour thyroid hormone. The clinic will monitor the thyroid functions to make sure it is working okay with the amioderone, and i think they also check my liver functions, too.
Does the side affects of the levothyroxine include headaches ? Whatever it is from, hope it gets better soon, headaches are no fun.

It's listed as a side effect, along with pretty much every side effect you could imagine, but it is in the "rare" section.

I had no way of knowing it of course, but I wish I had skipped my last operation because it turned out that there was no cancer in my left thyroid.

When I was reading about what might help my heart, magnesium was one of the things that helps keep it in rhythm, and the article that i was reading (can't find it again right now) also said that it can help some headaches, and that a magnesium deficiency is what causes most migraines and also the aura.
Don't know if it will help your headache or not, but it is worth a try. I take a cal/mag/zinc/D3 every night; but now I am doubling up on those trying to get this heart thing stabilized again.

I take levothyroxine and I've never had any side effects but my dose is lower than yours
And everyone reacts differently to meds.

I don't take magnesium but my daughter does but it hasn't helped her migraines any but she still takes it.
