I wish to extend hearty thanks for all your contributions, your attention to my own whimsical diatribes and imponderables, and most of all, best wishes to Ken Anderson, for his restraint I've observed in "reigning in" comment going astray. It's as though the place is self-governing, like our glorious country was hoped it would be by the Founding Fathers.

No doubt, many here wonder as another year "turns over", whether attrition will claim them before the next one. I do too. And yet, I don't worry much about it. Years back, I thought if I was lucky, I would live to see a century "turn over". I calculated that would happen if I made it to 57. Never thought about it again, until now. 17 years ago, I turned 57! The Y2K nonsense threw off my feelings regarding 2000. It was just "another day".

Our forum delves into all the issues of "growing old", old timers living amongst young folk whose mores differ in very radical ways from those of our own Folks. Times change. I disagree with a lot of the changes, but live with them.

So, Best Wishes in the New Year to all of you here who have granted me the honor by spending time reading my various imponderables as well as those thinly disguised acts aimed against "the system".

@Steve North, my thoughts as well.

@Frank Sanoica I hope you are just saying good-bye to 2016 with a little bit of melancholy. Even so, I have enjoyed reading your imponderable posts and look forward to them this 2017.

@Von Jones - I didn't read it as a 'goodbye' thread but a 'thanks' thread

Jiminy Cricket! Responses made me re-read my own witless chatter; I see why my wife refers to me as the "half-wit". There was a "farewell ring" to it, so perception is divided by the impression observed by the reader.

Sorry for throwing out such a "ringer"!

I guess I feel the same in a way @Frank Sanoica though I always thought I would live to be 139 for some reason, that was after I got over the being immortal feeling of youth, these days at 75 I just live for the day and hope I will wake up to another one tomorrow.
I like your whimsical diatribes and imponderables when I can understand them Frank ;) ........... anyway I wish you a good 2017 and beyond......

Well-said, @Terry Page , and I agree with you on the philosophy. Plus, I also enjoy @Frank Sanoica 's (posts) when I can understand them. I guess some are just too imponderable for me.
And, by the way, I love the new avatar, Terry !
