I had 2 first thoughts today, thought I'd share them and maybe start a thread on what your first thoughts are on different news you hear. I was kind of surprised Hillary is thinking of running for Mayor of NY city, and here's what my first thought was: Trump's home-town. And where his business is centered (I think that is true??). Wondered how much of his family lives there now, and does Hillary want to somehow be in a position to mess with all that? Ted Cruz "playing" nice with Trump now?? Does Trump, or anyone trust that guy? I don't, and wouldn't trust him with the job of bringing in donuts and coffee to meetings. So any news you've heard lately and had a "1st thought" that seemed "far-fetched" but others might have the same thought?
@Denise Happyfeet Most interesting question, regarding Hillary. She obviously would be entering into a focused effort, guided by other powerful influential persons, to enter such a race. A most fitting replacement she would be for the crook Michael Bloomberg. Crook succeeds crook. Trump's empire there might be rather vulnerable to economic attack by such devious intent, might being an "iffy" word. If not economic then perhaps psychological attack. Interesting fodder to ponder. For a leading Demo presidential candidate to stoop to a Mayoralty eludes me, though. If she survives for four more years, it would seem likely that given the close recent election results, she might be pushed again, depending of course on national mood after Trump's intentions become implemented. Most interesting! Frank
First I've heard of Hillary running for mayor. New yawkers wanted her for president so I'm sure they would elect her mayor. I disagree about Ted Cruz. I think he would be a good choice for the supreme court.
Yes, Fox newsies mentioned the possibility of 4 years from now she could possibly..and that's when they started laughing. I don't laugh, I cringe at the thought. There are some savvy folks in the U.S. thank God, and some at least willing to learn, and, give our new President a chance. But there are still "those".. I hear that Bloomberg has "messed in his kit" so to speak, and that she'd probably get in partly because of his failures. Some good points your make Frank. And a "method to her madness"? Definitely looney-bin material. I do hope and pray Trump is able to get his plan implemented, and I know he will bust his butt to do it. That's what he's done all his life, so he's not going to stop now. It will be on the American peoples head if he is blocked in any way. Of course he'll be blamed, but just like Obama getting away with all he's done, and maybe will be a busy-bee doing more harm, we the people are in charge, or supposed to be.
http://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/05/nyregion/hillary-clinton-de-blasio-new-york-mayor.html?_r=0 My own personal opinion as to whether Hillary would run for Mayor of New York is that she would consider that a step down and she is still looking to step up and be top dog! Maybe she will run for the top position at the United Nations...or she might be saving herself for the position of Antichrist!
So which was your first thought, I didn't think of the anti-christ because isn't everyone supposed to be mesmerized by him/it/she? Too many folks just plain nauseated by her.
My first thought is that unless she can find something that will make her Top Dog of something she considers higher than the Presidency....or she can somehow take the Presidency away from Trump....she might as well just go start being a Granny to her grandchildren.
On the other hand I'm not sure if the evil in her can stop hating the fact that Trump beat her enough to let her sit back and enjoy life, instead of plotting her revenge.
I kind of thought she would fade away, and do just that. I'm shouldn't be surprised though, she is a legend in her own mind. A legend of "how to get away with anything and live above the law in America". But she "is" under the influence of her own deception imo. She actually believes her stuff.
@Babs Hunt "Maybe she will run for the top position at the United Nations" This could really be a stronger possibility than at first meets consideration. Certainly money is a "Clinton-magnetic" material, and considering the son of U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan was able to abscond with around $200 Million, and both father and son escape retribution, that feat would look like a satisfying event to a Clinton. Frank
