I have been loading my music CD's on flashdrives to play in our car. Can anyone tell me if after you've loaded some CD's on a flashdrive but there is still storage space on the flashdrive, can you load more CD's on it?
I think it has to do with whether the CD is followed by a R or an RW Babs?? Here's an article that may help you: http://www.osta.org/technology/cdqa8.htm
You can record multiple sessions on CD RW's and I know you can on Flashdrives because I do that one myself. I got mixed up on the previous post and forgot you were using Flashdrive http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,25430,00.asp
I did put alot of my CD's... I think my music library on my laptop called it "syncing" the CD's on to the flashdrive. But I'm pretty sure there is more storage space to load more music, and so I want to know if I can plug the flashdrive back in and sync some more now. I want to make sure I'm understanding you @Denise Happyfeet. You have gone back and loaded more music or stuff on your flashdrive after you had already loaded stuff? It won't erase or write over the music I already have on that flashdrive, will it?
Yes, I have 32 GB flash I use to load, upload games, photos. You can read your drive holding Flash to see how much room is left Babs, then, you can load a CD, and if there isn't room for the whole CD you will get an alert. I load separate songs (Mp3's) so I haven't tried to load a whole CD but if you have room on your flash, you can load it as long as there is room (you don't have to load it all at once. Flash Drives are reusable, so like a CD RW, rewriteable and reusable
Thank you @Denise Happyfeet. At first I was really unhappy our new car didn't have a CD player to play all the music we love but it does have plug ins for flashdrives and for the Mp3's so I was really happy when I was able to put a bunch of those CD's on a flashdrive. The flashdrive I bought had alot of storage room (I'm probably not using the correct terms here) and I sure didn't want to see that extra space go to waste. I made my Honey a Valentine's flashdrive with all his favorite praise and worship music on it...he's going to be a really happy man when he gets home from work and finds his love gift.
That's an awesome gift, best I have in my ole truck is a Radio but I do get KLOVE Glad to help, I hope, let me know if all goes ok If you have extra space left, but CD is to big to fit all, just fill in Flash with single Mp3's. I make mine by youtube videos, and convert them to mp3's via this online conversion site, works great https://www.onlinevideoconverter.com/video-converter 1. copy in youtube video URL/Address 2. select format (I use Mp3) 3. Click "Start" (leaves it as Audio only file (mp3) 4. Download and save to your Music Files
Same to you Babs, getting ready to go up North a ways and shop in Brookings. They have some stores we don't, and my gal-friend and I like to hit the thriftstores there as well bfn, Denise
You can check and see how much room is left on a Flash Drive by putting it into the usb slot on the front of your computer (with the computer all the way on), click on the icon for "my computer" (in the opening screen) and there should be a bar there showing how much space you have left on the flash drive (if you are using Windows 10). While in the same spot, you can also hold your mouse arrow over the flash drive, right click on your mouse, click on Properties and that will also tell you how much room you have left on the flash drive.
@Cody Fousnaugh Thanks for telling me how to check the remaining storage space. My computer says I have 29.1 GB free of 29.7GB...does that mean I have space enough remaining to almost load all my music library on this flashdrive?
