@Lara Moss, in Colorado we were most empressed by Pike's Peek and the surounding mountains. The Aspen (?) trees had turned golden, and they stood out like beautifully dressed ladies.

@Joe Riley, the thing I miss most is my two or three cups of coffee in the morning. You will pay $5 to $10 for a cup of coffee here in Vegas. Can you send me a few vertual cups? I'm starting to drag about now. This is the first hotel I've seen that doesn't offer a coffee pot in the room.

@Yvonne Smith, There is no way I could ever get Krystin up into a helicopter, but we do plan to go by car. We're told we can drive without to much trouble.

I'm still so worn out from yesterday's trip, and not getting to sleep until around 2:00 am., that my plan is to sleep today so we can see a show tonight. I'll post some pictures after I take a daytime nap.

I hope ya'll are having some of good times to tell me.

I think that is SO awesome that you can actually drive from Las Vegas and see the Grand Canyon, @Ina I. Wonder ! !
Back in the early 50's my mom and dad went on the only vacation that they ever took. We went by train, and took a special train from Denver to the Grand Canyon.
The indians were on this train in their full Navaho clothing, and they went up and down the cars selling silver and turquoise jewerly.
I have never cared much for jewelry ; but my mom bought me a little silver charm bracelet (which had horses on it). Since it was a souvenier of the trip, I cherished it, even if I never wore it.

When we got to the Grand Canyon there were more indians in head-dresses and full costume for their tribe, and they performed beautiful native dances for everyone to watch.
I dearly wanted to ride one of the mules to the bottom of the canyon; but my mom would not even consider it. Since I am terrified of heights, she made a wise decision. I am sure that I would not have wanted to go once we started down the canyon !

I imagine that it will be much different now than it was back then; but it will still be awesome, and I hope that you find it just as enchanting as I did.

I don't love the redwood much and maybe I would enjoy Las Vegas more, hahahaaa. It's one of my dreams to visit Las Vegas and see the casinos not for gambling but for amusement only. My father-in-law used to live there and before we had a chance to go there, they moved to North Carolina. Oppornity lost.

You've got a pretty young lady with you there, that one in the photo sitting on that big tree. From what I had read, the redwood tree lives for hundreds of years and there are some which are a thousand year old. Surely, you enjoyed your trip based on the pictures you posted.

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Well Laas Vegas was a washout for me. We got into the Excalabur just at midnight on the 26th. The next day I went out into the sun to walk around the strip, and get some pictures, and my sun poisoning kicked in, I spent the 27th, and 28th. in bed sick, ( and you really don't want to hear about that).

But last night, I was feeling better, so we went to see Cirque Du Soeil, and that was gratifying. Even Izzy, (my service dog), was entranced. I think he like the lady doing all the flipping while being suspended from long length of cloth.

The castle looking building is the Excalabur where we are staying. We leave to go back Colorado Spring tomorrow so we can enjoy some more of the counrty.

Great pictures again, @Ina I. Wonder but it seems that you didn't have a grand time because bad health got in the way. Coincidentally, my husband had a bum stomach on our last day in Vietnam (that was this Monday). Fortunately it was our last day of vacation so it didn't matter much.

I didn't hear you telling about the casinos. When we went to Macau in 2012, we went to several casinos not to gamble but just to look around. There were live performances of different types like dancing, stage play and there was one casino with a kaleidoscope show. But we had to hire a tour guide to help us roam around town. This October we are going to Hongkong and we probably would drop by Macau again.

Hi @Corie Henson, I did look around the casinoes, and I did get some pictures, but I'm not one for crouds. or all the noise. Vegas was for Krystin's birthday, which was yesterday. We leave this morning ar 10: am. for the airport. Then we have to fly back to LA, California, fur a three hour layover before we go back to Golrado Speings, CO. Weird, we have to go west before we can go east.

We are hoping to go Seven Falls this time. It isn't far south of where we will be staying. Then it will be time to head for home on Saturday. I miss my animals, my cedar rocking chair, and all my hummingbirds.

Here are aome pictures from kast night.

What an interesting picture to see your doggie in front of the slots. I'd surely love to have a photo of that with my Barbie (incidentally she is in the hospital now due to acute diarrhea, hopefully she will be released today).

The casino is one sure way to entertain yourself, an 89-year old Canadian said to us. Just the lights will perk you up and the thrill of playing will make you feel alive. That old man said that he spends half of his pension on the casino games. We also have been so the casino whenever we have the chance but we seldom play because we don't relish losing money, hahahaaa.

That's the problem with long vacations, you miss the house even if you have your pet with you.

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg We got back into Colrado Springs around 11:pm. late night, and we were at the Vegas airport by 10:am. yesterday morning. Then this morning we got up and went to Seven Falls. Most people took the shuttle, but I decided to go it by my electronic wheelchair. I admit that chair allowed me to got to places I would not have even tried, and I was able to see things that I wouldn't have seen without it.

It seems to me that you are a nature lover, @Ina I. Wonder because you are posting trees and now flowers. I had been on a tour recently and our pictures mostly show buildings, people, food and other attractions but not much of the flowers and trees. And again, I love that dog of yours.

By the way, my Barbie is still in the hospital due to intestinal flu - she vomits and has loose bowel movement. She was confined since Wednesday (it's now Friday here).

@Corie Henson, I hope your Barbie gets well soon. I don't do well when I'm worried about one of my own.

And yes your right, I am a person closer to nature than people and places. People, to me, are pretty much the same all over. But, nature is continually changing for me.
