I have been fighting against a virus which has taken hold over here and everywhere by the sounds of it. I was told to try Kaloba tablets which is pelargonium Even though the virus had started its path, I got the tablets I take one in the morning just before breakfast and one in the evening, again with something to eat. The result has been amazing and I feel I've beaten this thing Last times I've had it, its gone on for 4/5 weeks ! I also put salt in a little warm water - twice a day I would sloosh my mouth with this and felt a benefit too. Just a couple of hints if you experience this virus, its well worth a try. Pelargoniam is said to reduce the lifespan of a virus - it does !
I've never heard of it. Is it like tamiflu, it's suggested you take that here if it's not been more than 48 hrs since you got the flu....it lessens the time and the severity of the flu...so they say. I didn't take it because by the time I called my dr last week it was too late.
It is here, at least that's what they told me last week when I called the drs office. I didn't look for it but they didn't offer to send in a script so I'm guessing it's OTC here. I can't take any OTC meds for colds or flu, they make me feel weird. I did buy some Robitussin DM Last week but quit taking it...
I knew it ! Everytime I praise a product, it goes and does the opposite Almost back to square one today
Oh yes ! Still not as bad as before the tablets though, so I am grateful for them, just having an off day @Chrissy Cross
I haven't noticed that any over the counter drugs have any effect on a cold. Sometimes, I'll take them but they certainly don't make the symptoms go away. Maybe the best I can do is find something that will make me drowsy enough to sleep, but that's not the kind of sleep that's satisfying. What does seem to work is, when I wake up in the morning with a slight sore throat or cold symptoms, if I eat a whole lot of oranges (or other citrus) and drink a lot orange juice, that seems to keep it from getting worse. On the other hand, if I wait until it gets worse, that seems to be too late for the citrus remedy.
@Ken Anderson - I believe that's right and you 'can' nip it in the bud but you have to be quick I'm keeping remedies at hand now
hope you are feeling better. Boost your immunity by drinking a lot of vitamin c. You can drink vitamin c 2x a day for at least 2 weeks, and supplement it with exercise and a healthy diet.
Hello!yes,I'm a real doctor, but however, I have recently retired. I still try to help out patients even if I am not as active in the hospital setting as I was before.
@Doc James - could you invent a pair of 'cooling slippers' for me, now you're retired Also a comfortable seat cushion
