:oops:I saw it on the news today that NASA researchers found salty water on Mars. It's so exciting for it shows the diversity of the planets in this solar system. Mars is our neighbor and it's good to know what's going on at Mars.

This is an interesting development. I have often wondered if there use to be life on Mars at one time. I think this is further proof that there could have been at one time. After all, a planet with water could be habitable. Yes, it may not seem to have life now, but whose to say it didn't at one time many years ago.

I think it is wishful thinking. NASA, is only trying to pump up interest in future budgets, for a Mars Mission. They found patterns in the soil that suggested rivulets, and hint at salty water. The did not find microbial signs of life. I think they are leaping too far ahead....only trying to convince themselves! I think the only way we will go to Mars, is in the movies.

After their lies in support of man-made global warming, I don't necessarily believe NASA anymore. That doesn't mean it's not true, only that the NASA has lied before.

Of course, the problem is how to find life without contaminating the planet with bugs from Earth because the rover is not sterile. While there is water on Mars, there is a distinct possibility of some form of life existing. Unfortunately, it is not so easy to identify intelligent life on Earth...

Here is a very interesting video that I found. I do not know if this is real or faked; but if it is real, then it is pretty interesting.
What it shows is a person who used google earth and went to Greenland. He discovered NASA trucks and equipment up there, and the trucks say something about Mars on the side.
It truly does look like the same rocky pictures we have been seeing that is supposed to be from Mars, except here, the colors have not been made using a red filter.
Check it out and see what you think.

Of course, that water in Mars doesn't mean anything to the issue of a Mars station. But that discovery of water is a breakthrough in terms of realization. Scientists had believed that Mars is a barren planet like the moon. I sometimes wonder how those scientists could define the atmosphere of a celestial body like a planet or satellite with the mere use of a telescope. I had once read an article about the components of Jupiter's atmosphere.

And what if the next finding is a moss or small organisms that can be classified as vegetation?

I think we are in "What If" science, right now.

That is amazing, Yvonne! Of course the question is, can they be in both Greenland, and on Mars? I guess they could, but why? It would be a much cheaper trip, with the same fantastic travel pictures, to send home! A case of bait and switch, to the extreme? Another question is, when were the google earth pictures taken? It could have been earlier training exercises?

"The short answer is that Google usually updates imagery twice a month, typically around the 6th and the 20th of each month. Each update covers a very small portion of the globe. For example, the United States might seen 4-6 cities updated, or perhaps a single state, and other countries receive similar minor updates".
"As a general rule, Google tries to keep every area updated to within around three years old, but that’s not always possible. However, if your area is more than three years old, it’s likely that Google is working on updating it soon".
