Taken together, the bottom half of the global population own less than 1% of total wealth. In sharp contrast, the richest decile hold 87% of the world’s wealth, and the top percentile alone account for 48.2% of global assets.

And yes, if you like, you can accuse me of being a mad, swivel-eyed loony leftie (I'll take it as a compliment). But the quote above comes from Credit Suisse, who as far as I recall are a multinational financial services group not generally considered to be in the habit of fomenting worldwide revolution.

Are you talking about Trump's Tax Plan (post 13), or are you posting a "New Math" problem (post14)…just joking :D

It's true that the distribution of wealth is not fair by gargantuan proportions…but in the end we all end up the same…ashes to ashes, dust to dust. And if you put Life in perspective with Eternity…it's not that long that we're in this unfair situation. I find that comforting :)

In case you think he's saying that we are all basically the same, he's not. He's saying the right wing and the left wing political parties need to work together in order to "fly". Especially right now with Gun Control….please please, please….let's get along long enough to pass Gun Control Legislation, like NOW….no more assault rifles…please. Save our children. Save the innocent.

I'm afraid that I take no comfort whatsoever that a large percentage of humanity will spend their entire lives in poverty and in many cases, without access to clean water. Neither does the prospect of a mythical eternity.

Well, I wasn't insinuating that I take comfort in people having to live in poverty, in fact I didn't say that. But we have a different view has to how long this will be going on in comparison to eternal life…it's eternal life that I said I take comfort in, of course. I agree with you that it wouldn't be comforting if life ends here. That view means that this is everyone's only chance for happiness. And no one is 100% happy in this life.

@ lara Moss,The creator taught us to give our chilren more than one chance to accomplish things, so they learn to keep trying. So it seems like he/she would be as forgiving of our mistakes. I know I that I need a few times to get things right. I'm a bit on the dense.

I feel that sometimes, the afflicted will not be comforted, and that the comfortable, will be afflicted. I feel that God’s promise of eternal life is true and sure. I feel that our only hope, comes from God, and he gives us a lifetime of mercy and forgiveness. I feel that in the end, the sheep and the goats will not end up in the same place.

@Joe Riley, I understood your post, except the last sentence. Would you explain this to me? I would like to understand your meaning.

I guess I got lost along the way in discovering the meaning here, but I need no explanation.

I've never heard it (last sentence) expressed quite that way but I do understand and agree with what Joe said, but I shouldn't speak for him, especially since I wasn't addressed. I'm guessing he would feel more comfortable clarifying his post if we were in the Faith and Religion forum, because it is a matter of faith.

Meanwhile, on a litter note, I mean lighter note...Life isn't fair...
(as you can see I blotted out "P" because I don't like that word)

Feel free to carry on the discussion if you want (or not) but here's a funny 43sec commercial break:

Nowhere in the Bible, does it say that all people, sinners and saved, will end up in the same place. It talks about how God will separate the sheep (saved sinners) from the goats (unrepentant sinners).
I did not mean to steer into the deeper subject, but life in this world can be unfair. In the afterlife, however, we will face a completely just God.

@Joe Riley, Thank you for the explanation. I sure hope we get some one on one Q&A sessions with a very patient helper of our Creator. Maybe it will all just become clear at the moment joining him.
