I am estranged from my family and I have known for many years, my dreams are of them
and very tense. I wake up with tense muscles and my hands either clasped tightly or clenched.
Fortunately, I have no knowledge of the dreams, my brain blocks them out, until recently.
The past three nights they have woken me and it is getting me down
I need to take something to relax me before bed - I'll have a look today
If you know of anything, please let me know :)

A dream of contrary. Gratifying events in both personal or business affairs will follow a dream of clenching or shaking a fist.Muscles represent emotional upsets . Family, as a whole, is about our interests. Sorry, this is just basic stuff.. you have to break dreams down to get the whole meaning. Perhaps a glass of wine before bed. if you do not drink, maybe some lavender oil, on the writs, for you to whiff as you lay down. ;)

I don't need an explanation of the dreams or why I dream them :)
I'm unable to have a drink, I know that used to work
Lavender would keep me awake, can't take to the smell a bit overpowering
Thanks for the suggestions though :)

Praying for our heavenly Father to heal the hurt from your family @Patsy Faye and to turn those bad dreams into sweet dreams for you.

I take melatonin at night, and except for rare occasions (too much caffeine usually) I sleep really well all night long. I do not know if it would stop the nightmares , but it is worth trying. Many pain medications can cause nightmares; so that is something to avoid if at all possible.
Melatonin is a natural hormone that our body makes to help us sleep. When we are little, our body makes lots of it, and it is found in mother's milk (of all species) that is produced at night for the baby.
Until relatively recently, people knew that darkness was the time to go to bed, and melatonin is produced when we see darkness. Now, we have artificial light, so our body is not clued in that it needs to produce it before bedtime; plus we make less as we age.
I started with a dose of 3 mg when I was in my 50's and first read about it, and have gradually increased the dosage as I have gotten older.
    Each person is different.
My son,Michael, who is still in his 40's needs at least 10 mg to help him sleep, and for other people even 3 mg is not necessary, but it is a good place to start.
It is OTC, and fairly cheap, so you can get a small bottle to try out to see if it helps.

Was just looking and saw a product Taurine (amino acid) sounded good but some people got bad headaches with it
    so I won't be ordering that :)

Try what I mentioned in my PM. Didn't even see this post when I told you about the kiwis I've been eating...and you know me...if it's natural...it's not going to work, lol. But this seemed to probably because I wasn't expecting anything and was only eating them because they were good. I seldom eat fruit and just recently starting eating more...kiwis, papaya, bananas and had some watermelon yesterday...

Last night I slept like a baby or a log or whatever. If you're not allergic to kiwis..no harm because they're a good source for other health benefits.

Also, watch how late you have caffeine...I can't have any later than 1:00 PM.

Also I don't mean to say that I don't believe in natural foods...I do. I think they are a better source of vitamins and minerals than supplements..I just don't believe in miracle cures from them...at least they aren't for me.

They supply my body with what it needs...naturally.

They're good if they're ripe...and they are here right now, so good. Otherwise I don't care for them that much.

Maybe like a very ripe juicy strawberry, I'll eat one in a bit and think about what it tastes like. :)
