Babs.... what a great idea of painting a shade.....genius actually and I wonder why they don't make them with a scene already painted. Thank you.
People's dream in Brazil is owing a house. Rents are VERY expensive, and as most part of people here have very low salaries, if they pay for rent, they are not able to buy other things. I mean, if a family has a R$ 2.000 income a month and pays a R$ 600,00 rent, they can't afford to pay for their bills, to see a doctor (the public system doesn't work here either), to eat well or to go to a good school (again the public system doesn't work). Imagine that a good private school costs around R$ 2.000 a month - the income of a poor family. So, it's hard for most part of the population just to live a simple and comfortable life. It's a pity, but we've been living times of deep corruption, disinterest, change of values, violence and economic recession. I consider myself lucky, as I own the house where I live. Actually my ex left it for my son and I when we separated, and I've been keeping it for 12 years now. My son moved 3 years ago and I live here with my 2 dogs now. I've already thought about selling it, but the price the agents have offered me is ridiculous, and I wouldn't find an apartment near my job for that amount, and also, I wouldn't be able neither to take half furniture I got, nor to pay for all the mandatory fees included in a building. Anyway, in the past I had a dream of living abroad, but nowadays I think I have a good life here, and I don't think I would be able to restart a new life somewhere else. I still work very hard , and I can't retire.First, due to my age - the government doesn't allow you to do it if you are before 55, and second, the $. The value I'd get when retired would be less than R$ 1,000 a month. So, I'll continue working for some more years, specially because I have a mortgage for my office, which I can rent in the future.
my wife and i rent a duplex now. we had a home before this and it was getting the best of me with lower back and knee pain it was time to go. I was hiring people to do everything. glad we're free of it. now if i need something fixed, the heaviest thing i pick up is the phone. a real estate CO owns these properties and have full maintenance available. inside and out. it's a matter of choice. the expense's of real estate tax's, insurance, maintenance and home care are now gone. these units are covered by the owners so all we need is renters ins. plus you have the freedom to pull up stakes and leave. no hassle with selling a house. one thing we like here is its quite. and these are ranch style. no steps !!! http://genesistrails.com/
Having sold a home in New Zealand and one in Sun City, Roseville, California I now live in a age 55+Luxury Apartment.I know I live in LUXURY because it says so on the side of the building. It's a nice two bed two bath apartment in a great location. I haven't been a renter since being a married with child college student in 1958,
We own the place we are at. It is 1.75 acres and most of it is gardens and of course mowing around a trillion trees. My husband had a knee replacement surgery over thanksgiving and is still not fully recovered. Our first snow of the season was so wet it brought trees down and many branches. I went out to try and move the branches and realized immediately my deteriorated muscles. I don't know what we will do, as we cannot afford a service to help us. I am somewhat mad at him because a few years ago I was shopping for ride on mowers, but being the Macho man he came home with a mower I can't even get out of the shed. Ugh!
not us. we have a cat. had to pay a separate deposit for him. I think its refundable but not sure. i would say for most pet owners they go to.
My prayer for all of us whether we own or rent our "Home"....is that it feels like "Home" to us and we are happy with where we live. Our heavenly Father does not want us to be so happy in any earthly home that we don't want to go to our heavenly home when our earthly life is over with and our eternal life begins. Yet there is no way I believe our heavenly Father wants us to be miserable in our earthly home either. We should be at peace for the most part where we live on this earth...if we are not then maybe it is time to ask our heavenly Father to give us that peace or move us to a place where we will have that peace. God created a beautiful earth for His children and He wants us to enjoy our earthly life for it is a foreshadow of the beauty of our eternal life with Him one day. Home really is where our heart is and when we make God our home....we will be at home anywhere because He will be there with us. We don't really "own" anything on this earth....it all belongs to our heavenly Father and yet He longs to give all of His children a peaceful "Home" while we are on earth as well as in eternity. If you are not happy with your home whether you own or rent it...then all you need to do is ask our heavenly Father to give you peace or show you where your earthly home is supposed to be. God has the perfect home for you in eternity...but He also has that perfect home for you while you are on earth too. His Word says "ask, and you shall receive..." and we sometimes ask for what we want...but when we ask our heavenly Father for what we really need....then we shall receive in His perfect timing all that we really need and that will fill our hearts with peace and contentment...and we shall know we are "Home."
It doesn't influence mine...my allergies to indoor pets are what influences that the most. Most places you rent will charge a pet deposit and you usually don't get that back anyway.
We own our home and rent the space it's on. It is a 14' X 70' mobile home with a professionally built 13' X 68' addition. The addition consists of a carport in front, a large covered deck with two skylights, and two rooms in back, a small entry/mudroom and a bedroom. Altogether 1300 Sq/Ft enclosed. Ours is a Senior mobile home park that is very well managed and looked after on the edge of town close to shopping bus stops and the hospital. We are so pleased that we found it 12 years ago and hope to finish our lives here. I even have a little 8' X 16' shop to putter in. This is an old picture. I've added a scooter ramp since then and a cherry tree.
I've been wanting a mobile in a senior park. Not having any luck with anything nice and newer. Doesn't have to be brand new. I've been looking for 2 1/2 years.
