One of the posts here in another thread made me look at a few foreign papers in English of course. Do others look at news papers beyond their own country? I found a few interesting. The Guardian ...and Israeli...
I do check out other Countries Newspapers but no matter what News I'm reading I always wonder the same thing now days: "Is it true or is it just more fake news!"
Good to do. Most publications have a side they promote, but the fake news is seldom in a well known publication.
I don't think I can agree with you on this as far as America's newspapers...even many of the well known Newspapers are printing fake news these days.
I guess you could call it more twisting the truth in many cases @Kalvin Mitnic....but if isn't the truth...then it's fake to me.
Sorry I don't agree. They can be and are partisan, but The Times-Post- and other mainstream papers ( The Wall Street Journal,Post,The New York Times,USA Today, Los Angeles Times avoid fake news because they absolutely need credibility. Fake News is usually claimed by those not liking the truth. Example. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/state-senator-fake-news-lawsuit_us_58a23002e4b0ab2d2b1830b0
It might have stopped working but it's still out there and you have to "wade" through it sometimes just to be able to identify it as such. @Joe Riley It's good to catch you here Joe...hope all is well with you and yours.
As attributed it was said...“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it." Maybe it was George Costanza But today most things can be checked IF you want to know the truth. If you accept all you read and hear then you're just a plain silly goose..
It's when they mix a little truth with mostly lies that I hate. When the Presidential election was going on it was the biggest mess trying to find the truth. I got so burnt out on all the lies, etc. during that time that I just have a hard time believing most things now days unless it comes straight from the horse's mouth.
What I've noticed especially with CNN is that they'll post an article and it looks like a headline but it's really an opinion piece.
I agree. I actually like to read the opinion articles on alot of things even if I don't agree with their opinion...but I wouldn't like it either if I thought it was headline news and it was really just someone's opinion.
I posted this the other day, CNN staging the news... http://www.seniorsonly.club/threads/fake-news-especially-cnn.7101/
