We all know that surely .........................
Why then can't we be more tolerant, stretch out that hand of friendship and see the result ?
We may have a better world to live in, wars certainly haven't given us that
Why assume a few bad apples means all apples are bad
Even amongst a cold callous family, there will be a child that wants to pull away and make good
We presume too much of others and I have certainly been guilty of that.

I agree, Patsy. Everybody always blames the other side...if we can't be more tolerant this world is going downhill fast.

It's starting already and it wasn't a terrorist yesterday that went on that shooting spree at the baseball game.

There are cultures I certainly don't agree with but, if they keep their rituals to themselves and we can curb others
that encroach decency, then we should nail it.
Governments are far too slow to stamp on certain aspects that cause ill will and, I do agree that if cultures want to continue
with their ways, they 'should' go back to where it 'is custom'

Well, we can't have it both ways. Either we are going to be tolerant, which just isn't going to happen, or we say these cultures should go back to their country of their customs. I didn't see "hate" arise when Little Saigon (Vietnamese area) was set up in the Garden Grove area of Southern California, China Town in San Francisco and other towns in America that were set up by immigrants that moved here. Even though many don't like it, there are Vietnamese that don't speak English, ladies from India that still wear their native dress that now live in America. To a point, the saying "live in America, speak, look and act like American's" just doesn't cut it. Like it or not, we tolerate it.

The Indian lady should wear her dress, she's Indian
There is nothing wrong with that
But - when culture introduces indecent standards, cruelty - then that is unacceptable, just as it would be with
    any criminal act
Yes we have welcomed many nationalities and its worked well - Muslims can integrate too - if we let them
If we shower them with hate - trouble ensues

Unfortunately, there will always be some kind of "hate" in America.

Yes, but I feel it's the worst it's ever been and I'm sick of it and I think both sides perpetuate it and I'm not going to do it anymore.

Patsy, Patsy! Perhaps I over-react! Your OP is IMO out of character. What "fired" you up?

Recent events Frank. Finally realised that hate for people 'unknown' solves absolutely nothing
Community spirit does ! And that's what I have witnessed over recent weeks
Muslims are being killed on a daily basis by terrorists, the very terrorists that are threatening 'us'
so why do we then turn on innocent people because of a few - makes no sense
But - if we keep on the road of hate, we 'will' turn those innocent people into 'haters' of us
    :)

Who stormed into Iraq and who followed - US and us
Plain and simple interfering in others business, nothing to do with 9/11
The result is evident now, so we achieved nothing but hate
Just an example of hate breeding hate, not that you need one Gary ...........
If your family were being abused verbally or physically each time they ventured out, how would you feel ?
Would you despise the people hurling the abuse or the 'whole' of that nation they belong to ?
    :)
