Some older shows I enjoy watching and some I don't. I also think of the age I was when some of these aired.

The ones I do like to watch are Adam 12, I Dream of Jeannie and Emergency. Emergency is a bit corny with that one nurse Dixie being every place: Taking the Paramedic calls, in the ER, at the bedside and even the surgical nurse in the operating room. So unrealistic but I still enjoy the show.

I also can't believe that some shows like The Golden Girls are 30 years old.

    What are your favorites?

The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie, My Three Sons, Leave it to Beaver, Hazel, The Andy Griffin Show, etc. I'm to tired to think of anymore right now but I actually prefer most of the old shows to alot of the shows they have now days. :)

@Kitty Carmel "What are your favorites?"
A bunch! As a small kid, Lloyd Bridges in "Sea Hunt". "Death Valley Days". Still hear the horn or klaxon playing the intro, I can hum it exactly. 20 Mule Team Borax sponsored it.

"The Cisco Kid", Duncan Renaldo & Leo Carillo. "Aw, Pancho......Hey Ceesco".

"Boston Blackie", detective series. Lead, maybe Kent Taylor?

    "Highway Patrol", Broderick Crawford.

A detective series, name eludes me, starring William Gargan, who got throat cancer, and spent the rest of his life giving talks to high schoolers about the mistake of smoking. He had one of the first artificial voice-boxes, sounded horrible. GOT IT! "Martin Kane, Private Eye".

Of course, "Cavalcade of Stars". "Jackie Gleason Show", "Down You Go", "Queen for a Day", "Robert Q. Lewis Show, "Texaco Star Hour", Sid Caesar, Milton Berle, "What's My Line". There were so many. The memories flood back and make me fear the future more.

I have never been a big watcher of television programs; but there are still some that I really enjoyed watching. I think that the one I watched most consistently was probably "The Twilight Zone" ; but I also enjoyed some of the westerns we use to have, such as Gunsmoke, Bonanza, The Rebal (Johnny Yuma), and Have Gun, Will Travel.
As you can probably tell, those are all really old programs that came on in the 50's and early 60's; and I can't really think of anything newer than these that I watched very often.
Now, I will occasionally watch a movie online or on television; but more often, I am likely to be reading a book instead.

Thanks for all your replies. I used to get two channels that showed old TV series but now I can only find one. Thanks Comcast.

    I'll also add Hawaii 5-0.

Frank, I'm sorry you feel this way. I kind of do the same thing. See when the show originally aired and think about the age I was and what I was doing. Often unhappy times but I was young then.

Andy and Opie I can still enjoy.
    "The Andy Griffith Show"

The characters in the show were one of a kind...what a cast.

I don't quite understand why? The future is so much shorter now than the past and we survived 'that'.

I got quiet a few of them that I really like. Castle was on for a while, but now it's gone. White Collar was on every Sunday on ION, but now it's Bond Sundays. I found out one night that Roy Rodgers Show in black and white is on our channel 11 for an hour on Saturdays from 9-10PM. From 8-9PM is The Lone Ranger! It's so great to have these shows on TV again. I was just in elementary school when I first saw these shows on TV. I really like the Night Stalker with Darren McGavin. There was a station, ME TV who had old TV series where you could see Diagnosis Murder, Rockford Files, Kojack, Matlock. Then suddenly this year the format changed to only movies, too bad for I really enjoyed ME TV.

I agree, it's good to see you. I had wondered where you were! I was gone for a time myself.

I hate it when cable takes away channels or channels change their format.

If you ever heard of the Howdy Dowody show...I actually got to see Howdy in person. I was on the show in audience. Also on Howdys show was Clare Bell the clown...who later had his own show...Captain Kangaroo. Think the hosts name was Cowboy Bob. Well he and the clown would drive thru our neighborhood from time to time...in an old van...throwing out small candies and Toms peanuts to us kids. Guess this was a marketing strategy back then:p
