Twigs for breakfast for fiber ..then the rest of the day...some protein, veggies, a little fruit and an outshine bar for a treat or yogurt. So far today I had the twigs and for lunch had an omelet with spinach, Swiss cheese and a tbs of real bacon bits. And as I type this I'm sucking on a coconut water outshine bar....yummy. Dinner...who knows? I eat enough to not lose or gain weight, just stay where I am in a healthy way....works for me. I have a little binge once in awhile but not often so no harm.
This is the cereal I'm calling twigs... http://www.fooducate.com/app#!page=product&id=1E1E6D9C-E106-11DF-A102-FEFD45A4D471
I've said this before but I'm saying it again, I only drink Filtered water, nothing else. First thing in the morning I filter a cup or two of water through some coffee grounds. With breakfast I'll sometimes have some water that was filtered through an orange. With lunch sometimes I'll have a glass of water that was filtered through some tea leaves, but more often I'll have water that was filtered through a cow. In the evening nothing relaxes me better than a glass of water that has been filtered through some grapes.
I drank my share of Coke and other brands till I learned drinking pop/soda closed to eating destroys the stomach acid so you could not get the nutrition out of what you just ate. You could get the calories and sugar but things like vitamin A and others is hard.
Bobby has these drink mixes that are for before working out and then some for after working out that are supposed to help your muscles recuperate from the weight-lifting and exercises. He usually has some pink stuff (actually kind of pinkish orange) and it looks like he has high-octane gasoline in his gallon jug that he takes along to the fitness center every day. Well, he ran out of the pink stuff, and the new kind he got is kind of bluish and called "Ocean Breeze" flavor. (What in the world does ocean breeze have to do with flavor anyway ? ) But the new stuff is sweet and kind of like bubble gum maybe; so not as tasty as what he is used to drinking . I thought it might be okay mixed with lemon; so I chopped up a couple lemons and a lime or two, and peeled a cucumber and added a chunk of ginger , and put it all in the Vitamix with a quart of Bobby's left over after-workout mix. It actually ended up tasting pretty good, and it is healthy to drink, too. The color is a nice bluish-green; so it works for a limeade.
@Yvonne Smith I am always concerned about the use of artificial colorants in foods and drinks, and am appalled at the wide variety of them in the stores aimed directly at children. Frank
Pepsi was my choice for water back in the day until I got an awful bladder infection. I was told to stop or cut down on how much Pepsi I was drinking or get ready for another bout with in. The pain I went through up until I took my meds was enough to cut back big time on Pepsi. Then I found out just how much sugar it contains which contributed to weight gain over the scale hanging in the exam room, 20 pounds. Water and walking brought my weight back down and I felt so much better. Now a days it's tea, mostly black, some herbal but the green tea I couldn't get use to. When it comes to drinking water I just have a taste for it. I've always rebelled the 'recommended' amount of water because it felt like I was being told what to do.
I feel good when I drink a lot of water but it's boring so I am almost never thirsty for water. It helps to put some lemon in it.
I seldom drank water but now I have so many pills to take it seems I'm drinking it every time I turn around.
