I have a few watches that I've gotten over the years but every single one the battery is dead because I just don't wear them anymore.
@Chrissy Cross - the one I have now (10 years) is a battery one Before that, wind up, which I love and still have those pretty watches, one of which Fabs bought me 40 (cough) years ago ........................
I don't know if I still have any wind up watches. None of mine are really expensive and over the years I accumulated a lot but can't stand wearing jewelry anymore except for an earring. My first watch I bought myself when I was about twenty cost $250 and that was a lot back then. It had a chip of a real diamond on the face...I still have it.
To young Executives, male or female, a watch isn't "just a watch". It's an "impressive" thing on their wrist that goes with the high salary they have. There are even ladies and men's watches that have real diamonds around the watch face and/or on the band where it connects to the watch. When a young person is an Exec., the person "dresses to impress".
My daughter doesn't wear it to impress....only she knows it's a Rolex. She works hard for her money and likes certain things. Everybody has different extravagances...
Everybody 'is' different, if that watch makes her happy - nothing wrong with that I don't see that with a lot of people
Her husband bought it for her for her bday but she wanted it. It's very simple looking as it's a casual Rolex. I looked at it and wouldn't know...looks like one of my watches. It's her everyday watch, she wore it all the time but now I see her wearing her iwatch. Think Rolex is kind of an investment, it will hold its value like diamonds.
"Shallow"?? If we could have a boat with diamond inlaid furniture, we sure would. Be a part of the Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, oh yes! "Please, Robin Leach, have my multi-million dollar boat on your tv show!"
Nope, not kidding. As I always say, "money talks" and you know the rest. A brand new boat with stunningly beautiful furniture..........."Robin Leach, where are you?" Haven't you got anything, material or skills, that would impress people? My wife was totally impressed when she seen me in my cowboy clothes on a horse with a rope in my hand.
