Sure I impress people - I have great taste People with money, generally don't The people that impress me are those that go out of their way for others, not their trinkets
People with money sure impress us. They are the ones with new/newer boats, "snowbirds" that can afford two homes, better vehicle than we have, able to take very nice vacations and cruises, get on a slot machine and not have to worry about a limit they can spend, live in a nice house (or, in our case, it would be a nice house with a dock by a lake), not have to worry so much about medical bills and.............well, should I go on or do you see what I'm talking about?
Back in the early 70's, I visited my parents in Pensacola, FL before heading to my next assignment. They had a cook out and invited some friends of theirs over. One of my Dads friends turned out to be a pilot for the Navy Blue Angles. I chatted with him a while and noticed his watch. It was a Seiko Flightmaster Pilot Chronograph watch. I knew that some day I would own a watch like that. Many years later, I saved enough to get one. Still wear it out on special occasions. I will always wear a watch. Don't feel dressed without one.
