The last few days have seen several shows that invloved ghosts...even Lorretta Lynn claims she has ghosts on her ranch.....so wondering - what is your opinion of the possibility ? Anyone claim to have actual involvement with a ghost ?
As far as I know, I have never seen anyone that was a ghost, although I did have a car follow me down the road and then just vanish when there was no driveways or turnoffs. My mother said that she saw a person's face change once. She was at a dinner where 2-3 nuns were the main speakers, and she said that one of them had their head turn into a deathshead and then back. She had no idea what happened or why. It could have meant this woman was actually evil, or it might have meant that she was going to die soon, or maybe something else. In any case it shocked my mother very badly.
Well, at my old apt. I was cleaning with the vacuum with my TV on. Suddenly it went quiet. I turned off the vacuum cleaner, went to the TV and it was off! I looked at the plug; it was plugged in. I looked around nothing different. I turned on the TV again, sprinkled salt, like at a sumo tournament, to chase away evil spirits and nothing happened again. Then a few nights later I was in bed getting ready for sleep. I had put my little bell on my desk. I love pitch black rooms when I sleep, so there I was in bed just about to fall asleep, then the bell made a ringing sound like someone touched it. I looked at the direction nothing I could see, I prayed and went to sleep. Ghosts are everywhere as I found out when watching Dead Files on Travel Channel. I bought a Holy Saint Anthony medallion and haven't been bothered any longer. Ghosts do exist, thought they would all be in heaven though.
I have similar experiences Krissttina - everytime we have something new in the house, it will be examined by a familiar presence that we are now well used to, very curious is our ghost As for repetitive sightings, I believe in the stone tape theory, where buildings hold memories People that see a ghost wandering around (seen by many) are seeing a vision of a past event, like a recording of that event. @Krissttina Isobe
I have a ghost that opens the door sometimes, but mostly just walks around be hind me. I use to have one at work also but he was a little more hands on,playing with my hair and touching my arm. That one would also turn the radio on and off. Other than a little mischief he was harmless.
I can`t claim to have actually SEEN something ghostlike, or even to have heard anything which could be construed as being paranormal in content. But i have certainly sensed something once, or twice on different occasions. I can describe it only as being an all pervading feeling, or sensation. And, i didn`t think that it was just my imagination.
Sensing something is just as valid You can experience a familiar smell linked to a person too Such as tobacco or a perfume. I occasionally experience the smell of snuff, relating to my Grandmother
I used to like the old ghost hunter programs on TV and they had interesting video and audio tap of strangeness. In my life I have had weird things happen but have not linked it to any ghost. There are things like the John Hutchison effect which he made a machine that could move things. He was told to shut down his machines because they found things in other houses moving around.
My grandmother and mother believed in good and evil spirits, and ghosts. My grandmother always told me that you could tell an evil spirit by the fact that they would always try to get me to do something wrong. That good spirits would always try to guide me to do right. Spirits are not ghost. Ghosts are leading beings, and some people acquired one or more throughout their lives, and some never knew one. I was pretty little when my mother first tried to explained her people's ways to me, so I guess she was putting it as simply as she could. She told me that ghosts were like the Christian angels, and they would try to show me the right way of things. Now my father, (a fire and brimstone man), thought their ways were representive of the Devil's influence. Talk of spirits and ghosts were the work of the devil. So my father always called me the devil's child, and he literally meant it. Talk about confusion, I had a hard time reconciling the different ways of thinking. One was a gentle way of looking at things, and the other was harshly constricting. Now I've never seen a spirit or a ghost, but I think I've felt them. Maybe it is my grandmother. I like to think so.
I believe that the phenomena that people refer to as ghosts exists. I don't know whether they are the spirits of the deceased or something else entirely, however.
I do not know if ghosts and angels are the same thing or not, maybe both are manifestations of spirits, either good ones or evil ones. In any case, I do believe in angels, although I have never seen one of those to my knowledge either. Sometimes, it seems that animals in general, and maybe dogs in particular, can sense things that we humans can't sense. My mom always use to tell us the story about the angel and her Old English Sheepdog (whose name has temporarily slipped my mind........oh, it just came to me, she was called "Muffin"). Anyway, it was a bad winter in north Idaho, my parents were both close to 80 years old, and they had a 30 mile drive on an icy highway to get back home. There was a huge cliff on one side and a drop off down to the Pend Oreille River on the other side, and the old Ford Falcon station-wagon was sliding around on the slick highway; so my mom prayed (as she always did) and asked for God to send her some help to stay on the highway. She said that immediately, the car stopped skidding towards the edge of the road, and started traveling nicely down the highway as if there was no ice on the road. Meanwhile, Muffin, who had been snoozing in the back seat of the car the whole trip, suddenly woke up, looked at the hood of the car and barked most of the rest of the way home at whatever she saw (or sensed) out there. Mom was always sure that there had been Angels keeping the car on the highway as she and my dad traveled home that day, and she said that even though she couldn't see them, she believed that Muffin could.
I have angels all over my house @Yvonne Smith. One stands guard by my husband's urn in my bedroom. One sits outside by my front porch, a guardian angel clip is in my glove compartment in my car. I have them all over the house. I'm sure with that with such a large presence surrounding me, a few might even be real. I'm just drawn to them...even in my choice of an avatar.
