when I'm on here I seem to disagree with most of the views and sometimes wonder why I'm even on a mostly conservative forum. Then I'll go and read that other forum which is mostly liberal and I get upset with the crap they post and believe. I'm a misfit. I am very serious though...where do I fit in or belong??
How boring would it be to find a place where everyone is always in complete agreement on everything? At some point it would seem to be a waste of time, as everyone already knows how the conversation will evolve.
That's very true, Harry. It just seems I'm always thinking differently no matter what forum I'm on. I'm really not too conservative but not very liberal either.
Chrissy - does it 'really' matter I may dislike a persons view, but not the person and I don't get too upset either - especially over politics !
I am more of a moderate than a total conservative myself in a lot of my thinking, but definitely do not fit into a liberal forum either. I actually think that we have more moderates here than hardline liberals or conservatives, either one. At least here, @Chrissy Cross , most of us are at least willing to listen to a different viewpoint and not call each other names like little kids fighting with each other. I think that is the main thing, that we all respect each other as adults, and not that we all agree about politics, or anything else. We could have a thread about Thanksgiving dinner, and people would have differing ideas about what, when, and how it should be served. I try to stay away from posting things that I know will set people off; but sometimes, I just can't help myself . That does not mean that I think that anybody will agree with me, but at least I can say it without being ridiculed, and hopefully without offending someone else's beliefs.
Perhaps not so much "disagreeing", but maybe more trying to understand. That seems like what you are trying to do on my Small Town thread about wife and I moving.........understand why.
Yes, I think you may be right @Yvonne Smith ...when I start thinking of the members here, I think most fit the moderate category. Just seems like lately Ive been disagreeing too much and that had me wondering. I take everything too seriously also which isn't good on a forum ...just causes upset or anger. I need to back off a little ..
Yes, in your case I'm trying to understand ...and I think I finally do understand. In politics though I seem all over the place...
I understand to an extent getting too upset over political situations - but when you think of it, its all so short lived Presidents come and go and you can't get off the merry go round because there will be another President or situation that none of us can do much about, except put our cross on the ballot paper. I got so stressed about Brexit that I now dread the very word. I'm absolutely sick of all the arguments going on and being on the outside looking in, unable to do a thing about it but pray for a decent outcome
