Bless you @Babs Hunt ..I am enjoying my retirement no more getting up at 5am and working 11 hour days on my feet ...bliss , thanks for asking...and thanks for liking my photos...
I can no longer view Holly's grocery shopping photos. I see a square dark box that says something about Snapchat or something not being up todate. Anybody?
You're right @Bill Boggs I think it's a photobucket issue. Think you have to pay but I'm not certain because I don't use PB anymore but did read that somewhere.
Yeah, think it says 'update your photo bucket'. I could view a couple days ago. Thought it might be a forum issue. Thanks.
Sorry @Bill Boggs and everyone who can no longer see my photos... Unfortunately Photobucket has now put a stop on all 3rd party sharing of photos unless we pay $499 dollars per annum... so all the free photos that have been shared on these forums and thousands of other social networking sites using PB links have now been removed by photobucket We can still store them on PB, but we can't share them anywhere unless we cough up a whole load of dough... going from free to almost $500 overnight is shocking, and it's caused a furore among PB users,, especially those who upload their pictures on hobby sites etc.... I have used PB for many years... in fact ever since they first started and I feel that I have been given my money's worth over the years for sure, and I certainly would be happy to pay for the site but at a fare price... zero to $499 is just daylight robbery There are still plenty of free photo hosting sites out there, but they're less user friendly than PB was ..at least for me... However, on this forum..unlike most, I can still upload photos directly from my computer instead of having a need for PB... but I always tried to use a hosting site to upload photos to this site to prevent using up much of @Ken Anderson 's bandwidth...
@Holly Saunders I guess I'm in the same boat. I've used Photobucket to host my pictures to different forums over the years. Probably we aren't the only ones affected by this change. I'll just switch host sites, but till that happens, guess people will just have to 'wonder' what the heck I was trying to do. And NO...I won't pay for 3rd party hosting, because of the way they did it!
This tech zombie has never used Photobucket, so I guess I lucked out in a way. But I admit that I don't have a clue as to what Photobucket is, or even why you need it. What does the hosting mean, and how does that work
I have read online that this was happening, and seen other pictures that were posted online, and now are the same warning that you have on yours. I use Flickr, and I really like that because I can write about each picture so it is properly labeled, I can sort them into albums, and I can limit who can see them. I have been going through some of the old family photos that were taken by my folks years ago, and also some that I took when my kids were growing up, and I have been putting these in the Flickr albums and writing about each picture as much as I know about it. This way, it is accessible to my children, and the information about the pictures will be passed along to them as well. And Flickr is free ! I have never used Photobucket at all; but they sure did make a jump in price from free to $500 !
