As opposed to when and how, the who and what's are pretty hard to define in reference to the Charlottesville, Virginia protests this weekend.
In order to try to piece togeather the events, a person has to research all of the available media transcripts and without fail, use logic and reasoning to tie them all in. To my knowledge, not one popular media group has yet to give a complete analysis of the protests.

From what I have found out it started with the city council who very narrowly voted to get rid of the statue of Robert E. Lee and his horse. There was no public opinion poll taken, no vote, just....remove it because someone was offended.

After a judge presented a stay on the project in order to hear all of the sides, a group (who? dunno)protesting the removal and armed with a permit and their tiki torches started their small, fairly peaceful, convention at the statue site.
Apparently, one speech was focused on something akin to white supremacy while still another denounced racism in all of its facets and focused on the statue's historical value.
Please do note: In the aftermath, some spokesperson for the city said that city officials were horrified by the group but didn't say anything about the fact that it was the city who took the money and issued the permit.

The president and other sources pinpointed the KKK, neo-Nazi's and white supremist groups but from my seat, the KKK was not represented at the rally. Dunno about the other two because they do not wear uniforms or sheets. Maybe the lighting of the tiki torches at night were reminiscent of the KKK but again, flip your own coin.

At long last, at some point Antifa showed up in a counter protest, sans permit, and armed with homemade tear gas bombs and blow torches started throwing rocks, people, and yes, the gas bombs.
Meanwhile, some kid from Ohio mowed through the crowd with his car and killed one woman and injured several others. Then, somewhere in the mix a police helicopter went down in the woods nearby the protest site killing the two passengers. (coincidence?)

All good journalistic articles should answer the questions of who, what, when, where, how and sometimes even why but thus far, I cannot find anything so profoundly accurate that it completes those questions to any degree of my personal satisfaction. I can barely find answers to two of those catagories much less all of them.

It's short for anti-fascist. The actual group started prior to WWII in Europe but our U.S. homespun version is quite different than the founding movement.
These are extremely violent anarchists who are pretty well funded by guys like Soros who vie for the continuation of destabilizing the American government, particularly the government with D. Trump at the helm.

One female college student at a Baltimore convention (I think it was Baltimore) even knifed a pony cop's horse because, you guessed it, the horse was a fascist. She actually said that, live, on fox news tv.

I was not in favor of the group who had permeation to be there but they did and they have that right to do so. The police keeping them controlled led them into the anti-fa and BLM then dissipated into no protection at all. A setup right from the start. It is always sad when someone is injured or dies now it comes out through the alt media he was a Hillary supporter if that means anything. Who is running the police department that knowing a problem is going to start run the other way or even stir the two groups together..

I am not a psychologist by any means, but I am a student of human nature. There was, is and will always be those who will do anything in order to meet their desire to inflict pain upon anyone for no other reason than personal satisfaction. It's almost, well......sexual,....kind of.
In this case, they are not just a person here and there, doing what they wish and going to jail or a house for the criminally insane, they are brought into a grouping by paid antagonists. They burn, loot and destroy without any fear of being arrested because in fact, very few are. They invoke the bill of rights and the constitution and insist that freedom of action is somehow implied within the rule of law.
Until every state in the U.S. condemns such activity they will do nothing but grow in numbers with people who have nothing better to do than create havoc and moreover with people who love doing it.

Bobby I think we see the same picture Problem + Reactions = Solutions. When the people start complaining the government will offer a solution to stop this. Like only being able to have protests with ten people or less and they will sell that to the public as a solution. I think we know the government loves these problem and would even help them get out of hand so they can bring in more things to take your freedoms to give you security and in time you will have neither

Where are you getting the info that he was a Hillary supporter @Martin Alonzo ....I can't find that anywhere. The only thing I found was someone with almost a similar name writing a blog about why he voted for Hillary.

I don't agree with either side in this but I don't like untruths spread either.

I believe each side has the right to peaceful assembly and what happened the other day is the fault of all probably to some degree. When two opposite sides mix..it's not going to end peacefully.

However,James Alex Fields didn't have the right to ram a car into the crowd. I don't tolerate violence...no matter what side does it.

I don't think it's going to go that route because we have and will always have the right to peaceful assembly no matter if it's 10 or a million people involved.

Now, there is a definite caveat which insists that these open assemblies have a permit and a designated area in which to hold their rally. Obviously that set of laws do not presently pertain to violent militant groups or more arrests would be made. I digress.
Here'a the rub that "might" eventually happen whereby the government could get involved. Who gets the permits?
Will one group, say, a religious group be denied and an atheist group be accepted or the other way around?
Somewhere, someone is going to claim that their rights are being infringed upon should they get denied. A paradox to say the least.

Nothing there about Hillary but it's a pretty complete read on the guy.

There was a "Nazi" type group there, who wore the German "Nazi" soldier helmet, but I didn't see any "swastica's" on arm sleeve bands.

Trump is being put down for not siding more with the Blacks that were there.
