Ooooh @Joe Riley , I had no idea that he ended up a 'bitter man'' ..why was that? do you know? Was he not a popular entertainer in the USA in the latter part of his life...was he ill.... I'd not heard this so I'm genuinely interested to know..
As far as I know his ego played a part in his downfall, he was also very brash He made a good living and could have had a 'better' life if he'd wanted it to be so, but I guess he lived for the here and now. I've never read up about him as I just wasn't that interested I guess Joe will know more than I do
There's a few articles about him in the DM this morning...here's one.... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4807872/Seven-minute-interview-Jerry-Lewis-awkward.html
OMG how rude and belligerent was he in that interview..wow!! I'm glad I was never a fan because I would have been sorely disappointed in the man after seeing that!!
I loved that interview. Starting he did not ask to be interviewed no. The news media wanted it so if someone is bugging you what do you do be honest, be blunt and to the point and hope it ends soon.
Not if that's you're career. It's fans that made him famous and rich. If you don't like interviews and fans maybe entertainer isn't a good choice for you.
So agree with that, no matter how ill I'm feeling or down - I can manage to be civil ...... so far Watched countless interviews with the famous and I judge them on how they come across Had he been sensible in life and toned down the ego, just been a regular Joe who happened to work in the entertainment industry, all would have been better for him Not many James Stewarts' about though - unfortunately
Haha! The point is that nobody put a gun to his head for the interview and I'm sure if he really didn't want to do it his publicist or whomever could have said he's not up to it because of health issues.
