I just got my list of Prime Day giveaways again today, and signed up for more of the drawings. This must go almost all month; so if is stil possible to enter the drawings if you haven't been doing this already. Some of the prizes are not anything that I want (like jewelry or shock collars for a dog), but a lot of the writers are giving away a free Kindle; so maybe I will win another one, and then re-home it.
There are some really great prizes offered as well, and sometimes a discount coupon if you want to buy one of whatever the prize is.
One of the places that sponsors the Kindle drawings is a website called "BookGorilla", which appears to be similar to Bookbub ; so I signed up for their emails, and maybe I will find some good reading through their offerings, too. Here is the link for BookGorilla:

I am an Amazon Prime member. I bought 3 things on Prime Day. Some eyebrow makeup for my almost non-existent eyebrows, a coffee bean grinder and oh...what was it..I forgot what else...

I am starting to wonder if Amazon is going to just keep on having these drawings every day ? At first I thought it was just a 3-day deal ahead of the Prime Day. Then, they kept sending me the emails for new gifts that they had drawings for; so I kept signing up for drawings, thinking that it must last for the rest of the week, and then that it would be over at the end of the month.
Well, here we are into August, and I am still getting those announcements for drawings. Maybe, it has perked up business so much that Amazon is going to continue to do this every day . If they do that, maybe eventually, I will win something.
Am I the only one entering these drawings ?

I can understand what you mean, @Chrissy Cross . Some of the prizes that I entered the drawing for are things that someone else can use. As an example, there was one drawing for a special safety helmet for a bicyclist. Both of my grandsons have bicycles; so if i should win one of those, then I can ship it to their address instead of mine. If I should win another Kindle Fire, then I would probably give it to @Joyce Mcgregor (Evelyn) because the one that she has is an older one like mine was. Even older, because I gave it to her when I got myself a new one on eBay.
Camping equipment is something that my oldest son would use; and camera or tech equipment is something that any of my family always likes. When it is something that I don't think any of use might use, then I just bypass that drawing.
if I had no one to give anything to, then I would not even try with most of the prizes either.

That's very thoughtful of you @Yvonne Smith ....there's usually someone that can use something.

If you get a family member to join in your household, it pays for its'self quickly if you use it regularly. I share an account with my son.

Sometimes when I can't get what I want locally, I have been going to Amazon more & more. Prime items are free shipping, and they are more often competitively priced rather than not. I live in a small town, so it helps a lot, when local grocery stores drop products, I check Amazon. Walmart ain't the only game in town anymore.

Yes, I am a fan of Amazon Prime. If you are a Prime member you can stream some programs from your online Amazon app for free. We are watching Downton Abbey and are in the 5th season. Prime is a great investment. I also have access to some online books that are free for Amazon prime members that I read on my Kindle E-Reader!

There are a lot of items that are free shipping, but not in 2-days usually. Otherwise, you have to order (I think) $50 worth at a time to get the free shipping.
Prime just has so many extra benefits that come with it besides the free 2-day shipping, that we always get more than enough to be worth the cost of having Prime.
If all a person does is order something now and then, and doesn't use anything else, then the cost per year is a lot to pay. But if you watch movies, read books, store photos online, or listen to music, then you also save the cost of paying for things like Netflix, Hulu, Pandora, Spotify, or buying books from the Kindle store.
Now that Amazon has also acquired Whole Foods, even groceries might be cheaper. Yesterday was the first day of Amazon management of Whole Foods, and already they have cut prices on some of the food items almost in half. The customer loyalty card will be Prime membership, and there will be even more savings that will be available when you have Prime.
We looked at our Whole Foods grocery when they first opened up here in Huntsville, but the cost on everyday items was a lot more than the same item would be at Kroger, so we didn't go back. Now, it sounds like they will be competitive; so we are going to take another look and see what changes they are making.

Our town is too small for Whole Foods, but I can find them in Phoenix. It sounds like Huntsville is more upscale than Casa Grande.

We have Redstone Arsenal here, as well as NASA, plus a lot of military retirees, so Huntsville is probably one of the most progressive cities in Alabama, even though it is not the largest.
They just opened the Whole Foods Market here last November , so it is pretty new for us. It is not too far from where we live, and is on the way when we go to the fitness center; so we decided to stop by and check it out. After looking, we could see how it had the nickname of "whole paycheck market", and were astonished that chicken (which is usually areound $1-$2 per lb) was selling for $10 per lb.
Most of the time, we do not see very many cars there, but they have a huge deli area, and apparently a lot of their business is people coming in for lunch, and taking home food after work.

Like @Spencer Berrett, I live in a small town, and we're seventy miles from a much larger town, so I buy a lot from Amazon so, even without Amazon Prime streaming, the account pays for itself easily.
