I am definitely a veggie pizza person. My ideal combination includes mushrooms, onions, peppers and extra cheese in a deep dish format. Getting hungry right now.

I, too, like a lot of veggies on a pizza, but I hate that they charge me the same amount for veggies as they do for meat  My favorite is onions, peppers, mushrooms and sausage. My son talked me into having a pineapple and ham pizza a few months ago - it sounded really disgusting but he reminded me of all the times I made him try new foods  so .... it was actually really good. I was pleasantly surprised.

My very most favorite is one that was called a "Hawaiian Delight" at the little piza place where I first had one. It had mushrooms, red and green peppers, onions, canadian bacon, olives, pineapple, and fresh slices of tomato that they put on after the pizza was cooked.
That was the best pizza I have ever had in my whole life ! !
Since Bobby doesn't like pineaapple, and he does like more meat, we compromise . We get one of the supreme pizzas, and add anchovies (which we both love on pizza), and some extra cheese.
When we eat it , I put the fresh slices of tomato on mine, and we are both very happy with that combination.
Another favorite that we both like is the chicken pizza that is made with all of the veggies and the alfredo sauce instead of the marinara pizza sauce. I usually add sliced jalapenos to that pizza; plus the fresh tomato slices on top of my slice, of course.

My favorite has to be the old fashioned "Pepperoni and Cheese." Some of the offerings we get here in Thailand are really strange to our Western tongue but recently I tried a "Seafood Cocktail" which was full of prawns and other shellfish and instead of pizza sauce it is served with Thousand Island dressing! Sounds bizarre, but it was pretty good!

Richard, I would call this combination of ingredients, 'exotic'! Thanks for sharing this fun info.

Years ago when I was visiting Thailand, Lay's had a package of chips..."Squiddy Flavor - America's Favorite!"

Generally I only need tomatoes, red onion, chopped peppers and/or mushroom. Sometimes I will add tuna and olives or anchovies. Ground black pepper and herbs are addional seasonings.

It depends on who I'm making it for. I prefer my own home made pizza to anything a restaurant or fast food outlet because I can add as much or as little of anything I want.

I thought pizza was my favorite ingredient! Seriously, this is one of my favorite subjects - I had a pizza last night. I think pizza ingredient selection is like an art. My picks are based on my mood, hunger level, guilt about vegetables, etc. If I don't have any particular inspiration though, I just go for the standard medium crust with pepperoni with mushrooms for a full pie. If it's just a slice, then I have to go New York style with thin crust and pepperoni.

I will probably be beat up for this, but to me the only real pizza comes out of Brooklyn, NY!

Ha! That's controversial, but I have to agree. Best pizza ever comes from NYC. I know pizzerias in other places that try to copy it and they can't. There's something about the NYC water supply. Some guys from NYC in other towns have even tried to import the water or duplicate it as an experiment and it actually makes the pizza better. Don't ask me how it works, but there's something to it.

Pizza is my all time favorite food. It doesn't even have to be good pizza and I will still eat it. I'm a pretty basic person so I usually just get the classic pepperoni and cheese on it. I do like the other ingredients but I much more prefer just pepperoni and cheese. The seafood one sounds a bit yucky to me though.

Adam, I can appreciate your choice of pizza. My niece will always vote for a pepperoni and cheese with extra cheese. :)

I guess I have to mention another style of pizza I like. If the pizzeria is using an old fashioned coal-fired oven, I like the Neopolitan style Margherita pizza. It's really more like just bread with some toppings, but that's how pizza originated. If you haven't tried it, give it a shot sometime.

Something different that hasn't been mentioned yet is the breakfast pizza. They are not what you think of either for breakfast or for pizza; but they are delicious, and easy to make.
I used to set my bread machine for the dough setting, and set the timer so it would come on and be ready by the time I got up in the morning. Then you roll out the dough onto a pizza tin or even a cookie sheet if you like, and add your favorite fruit, and a little sugar for sweetener and spices.
My most favorite was an apricot breakfast pizza. You can use either canned or fresh apricots, but I usually used canned, since they were available year around.
Pineapple is also delicious, and a mix of the two is awesome, and with a fresh hot cup of coffee, it is a breakfast delight.
