Time to fess up folks ; what were the first films that made you cry. Or even shed a tear. This includes all you ex high school Jocks. Be a real man and 'fess up'. I know you girls will be honest. Wonder what Shirley's will be ? My first tear-jerker was 'Old Yeller' ; :(

Since you asked for the first one that made me cry, I am pretty sure that it was when Bambi's father was shot and killed. That is one of the earliest memories that I have of watching a movie, and I thought it was terrible that his father was killed.
I do remember seeing Old Yeller, and crying about that one, too. I think that I probably cried about Lady and the Tramp , too.
Another one that had a sad ending was Shane, with Alan Ladd.

    The Great Prince

The Great Prince leads a frightened Bambi to his mother. After the death of Bambi's mother, the Great Prince finds Bambi and explains to Bambi what happened to her. He calls for Bambi to come along with him, revealing himself to be Bambi's father. Later, when Bambi is a young adult, Man returns to the forest.

Oh, you are right ! It was Bambi's mother that was killed. I remember crying about it when I was little and saw the movie; but didn't remember which parent. Now that you reminded me, I do remember the big Stag coming to Bambi in the forest .
PS, @Jeff Tracy , I like the new avatar !

Bambi made me cry, later it was "Gone with the Wind".

I cry easily so if it was even a little sad, I probably cried.

I cried when they were cruel to the big fella, he really was very kind and gentle. Only ugly on the 'outside'.

I didn't cry, I 'sobbed' - even picturing the scene brings tears - Jennifer Jones was too real !

I might have cried at some of those. I don't remember. The one I clearly remember crying at was:
