One of the things I miss most is being able to have a good night's sleep more often. This has been a problem for years and despite trying herbal supplements, and prescription sleeping pills etc. nothing seems to work well. Recently I asked some of my peers what they did to get some quality zzz's and got some interesting answers ... spray the room with lavender fragrance, take cough syrup (Benadryl), or indulge with a shot of Baileys. ;)

Just the opposite, I miss being able to get by on a few hours sleep. I could get so much more done if I wasn't sleeping eight or nine hours every night.

CeeCee you are in the same place we all end up. Grandies are too busy for us. Life seems to pass you by. My grandies say "call anytime" but when you do you are basically interrupting the things they would rather be doing. But you do have us who need you...

True! I still have 3 younger ones but they're in Illinois. :(

I was texting with my son yesterday and he told me that Liam asked him if he was texting with Grandma Chris and when he replied yes..Liam told his dad he wants to move to California and live with me.

This is my youngest grandson who will be 7 on Sunday. I see them only once or twice a year at the most and they love me so....makes my heart sing! :)

I miss all the people I'll never see again. Well, some of them anyhow.

    Yea....me too!

@Ken Anderson, do you mean because they died? If yes, then my next question is....I thought you believed that when you die you will see your loved ones in heaven.

Some have died, yes; but others are simply spread out around the country and world. As for heaven, we haven't been told much about it.

    Thanks for the clarification!

I miss my husband and mother the most. I loved my grandparents more than anything but seems I don't cry anymore when I think of them.

I can still cry thinking about my mom and even my husband who died 13 yrs ago.

What I miss the most is the ability to climb up on chairs and ladders. I'm doing some fall cleaning and need to wash my kitchen curtains. I used to climb up in a chair and take them down and put them back up. My back windows are so high that I had to climb to the second from top rung of a step ladder to wash them. I had an attack of vertigo couple of years ago and now I'm afraid to climb.

This is exactly how it seems to me, too, @Jim Beam . I know that my kids are busy with their own lives, and their own families, and I never know when is a good time to call. I think that most of our interaction comes from reading each other’s Facebook pages, and I am not even sure if my kids read mine or not.
I enjoy being outside, but the weather here does not seem to facilitate outside activity. Most of the time it is hot and muggy, and the rest of the time, it is cold and muggy. And did I mention the mosquitoes ? You can hardly see through the mosquitos, and it doesn’t matter to them whether you are wearing repellant or not.
I think that is one of the things that I miss most , is just being able to be outside more, and not all of that is due to my age.

Lately I really miss the energy I used to have to do things. My get up and go has definitely got up and went. :)
