I'm really against the NFL players, etc. not standing for America's National Anthem. To me it's just another ploy to change America's history and traditions.

First prayer is taken out of our schools, the Ten Commandments out of our Courts, etc., the Confederate flag and Confederate monuments removed, and so on and so on.

Basically in my opinion there are people here in America, not to be Americans, but to destroy America one step and thing at a time. This isn't just recent, it's been going on for years....but it is excelerating and unless true Americans stand up and say "No More!" pretty soon America will a place none of us recognize anymore. It probably will not even be named America anymore either.

What's really going on here in my opinion is people who want that One World Order working harder every day to make it happen everywhere.

I really upsets me that when the football player refuse to stand for our national anthem, people seem to think that this is fine because that is a guaranteed right in our freedom of speech amendment.
I think that we should always stand up for our country, whether we support the president or we don’t. the flag does not represent one particular person, it represents our nation as a whole .

I don't like it but not because of the reasons you state @Babs Hunt but because I feel politics and religion should be kept out of sports and also don't want to hear anything about politics at the oscars, emmys etc.

I'm not watching sports or a movie or TV show to hear about your views unless the show is an interview for that purpose.

From what I've been able to tell, it's mainly about race and equality. They are saying that colored people, primarily Blacks and Hispanics aren't be treated with the equality of Whites. Law enforcement shooting have also been spoken about concerning what athletes are doing during the National Anthem (standing, kneeling and arms locked). It all started last year by one NFL player kneeling during the National Anthem.. Many of these athletes, and owners, are saying they completely disagree with what Trump stated and are revolting against that as well.

Who are these people who want to destroy?
Name them, we'll start a campaign.
Or, we can quit playing the National Anthem
    Would that ease our pain?

There are sporting events where the National Anthem isn't played..........PBA (bowling tournaments), PGA (golf)

Also have to remember, there are other venues, like Awards Ceremonies, where the Host and/or the Winners will make comments about something dealing with race or genders. And, the networks don't "blank out" these statements.

The NFL shenanigans over our National Anthem in my opinion is simply just another attempt to remove another brick from the foundation that built America. And some are even using this to bad mouth our President too.

And the National Anthem represents all our Soldiers, etc. who are willing to sacrifice their lives to keep our Country free so the NFL is "spitting" on them too.

I feel both sides have the right to free speech but not at a job that you are paid to do....and paid very well but that's not the point.

Chrissy, I understand what you are saying and I do agree that a football game is no place for this kind of political or religious stuff. But unfortunately that didn't stop the NFL from doing this...so I'm just stating my opinion on why I seriously don't agree with them doing this too.

Apparently the NFL stayed in the locker room during the National Anthem until 2009, with exceptions being 9-11, Kennedy's assassination, etc. Perhaps they should all stay in the locker room.

Well, Babs, not everyone likes Trump and they have the right to state that opinion. Just like when one of us members does a Thread or makes a reply and others give opposing comments back.

Wife and I happen to like Trump, but his mouth is getting him into some pretty deep trouble at times.

Whether we like our President or not...we should show respect for him or her...just as we should for our flag, our National Anthem and each other. Anything goes now days...but that doesn't mean it's the right thing to do.

Active Duty personnel really can't say anything concerning your feelings above or their Command could easily discipline them. Veteran's can state opinions about this and myself, a Navy Veteran, don't like it. But, unfortunately, what can anyone do about it? Some say they will never watch NFL again. Well, if that's the case, those NBA fans had better do the same as well as MLB fans.

This whole thing wasn't nearly as bad as now, until Trump opened up about it.
