Neither does my daughter... my husband does...., but he is not the type to go onto forums, and he wouldn't do it if I died... he kinda feels like it's some kind of little hobby for me, he doesn't take the forums seriously at all
Well, my passing might be mentioned on Facebook so I'm guessing Yvonne would see it and notify the forum. I might be friends with a few others but can't recall right now.
Ok then... One we need a In Memory page thread. Second maybe a roll call thread...what do you think @Ken Anderson ?
Keep in mind...your FB acct remains even when your gone.Someone has to send them copy of death cert before it can be closed.
I’m on my phone as we’re on the road but yes, such a category would be a good idea — maybe in conjunction with a notification thread.
Yes, I was just saying that Yvonne might see a post on my feed mentioning that I had died and would then know to tell the forum. I have lots of dead friends on Facebook....maybe about 4-5. Most friends from forums....guess nobody closed their FB acct. It's sad when I see the notice that it's their bday but then again...it reminds me of them, so not a bad thing.
We do have an “in memorium” thread, here already, and it would be a good place to also put alerts. We usually post when we know someone is sick, also; but we don’t have any special place for that; so maybe we should start a thread, just like we have the birthday thread. Speaking of the Birthday thread, I think we should start a new one of those each year, so in January, it would be something like Birthdays thread-2018. Here is the link for the I’m memorium thread. And, yes, @Chrissy Cross , I would definitely let everyone here and on SF know if you were sick or died and it was on your FB page. Hopefully, Bobby would let everyone know if something happened to me, and I would for him. I have some of @Ina I. Wonder ’s family on FB, so I can check with them when I get worried about her, too. http://www.seniorsonly.club/forums/in-memoriam/
Now that I'm thinking about it....it was weird for me to think of Gary this morning. I was just on my iPad, going from website to website and he popped into my head and when I saw that it's been a few days since he posted on here which isn't all that strange..he didn't post every day, something made me look further today. I couldn't believe what I was reading on Facebook and checked and rechecked to make sure before I posted it on here. I will always remember Gary for his funny memes. RIP Gary! Reading some of the tributes on his FB page from his friends bought tears to my eyes. You are missed!
I'm sorry to hear about Gary. He will be missed. A true patriotic American if there ever was one. @Louise Williams , has my phone number and I have hers. So does @Joyce Lang . If I should (Heaven forbid) die, one of my kids will call one or both of them.
I’m thinking maybe a category for memorials, notifications, and that sort of thing, but not jokes. I’m open to ideas.
I have seen Gary's name here now and then but did not know the man. May he rest in peace, and it sounds like he did pass away peacefully.. I have a little black address and ph# book here on my desk. it has all my friends numbers in it . My hubby knows about it and knows to call everyone in that book.. Everyone hates to hear bad news but at least we can give our condolences ...
